·In 2022 I'll probably shake a few more watches I don't wear that much and focus on a few 'affordable' grails, if that makes sense. No dark lords or golden 1158 Carreras but a sub 5513 maxi has long been on my list and I'm circling one at the moment. Apart from that a cool vintage dress watch would be a nice addition. 18k solid yellow gold sounds about right.
Of all my 2021 purchases none had the top spot on my list as they were deemed too expensive or I was hunting something specific. I love and hate how this hobby throws opportunities at you that you simply can't pass up.
This year I started to appreciate (a very small fraction of) '90s TAG Heuer. Rob's endless stream of these watches finally struck a chord with me. I bought two series 2000, they didn't break the bank and especially the blue one I enjoy wearing very much. I don't expect I'll be going any further down that rabbit hole but who knows what the fedex guy turns up with.
90s TAG is awesome.
