Totally agree with you. Here's an old 2018 thread on the topic from OTD since I can't find the similar convo here at C11.

I was going to say I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s proposing splitting the company because to me it seems the obvious best outcome for the customer, and therefore the company.
However, if young Frederic doesn’t understand or appreciate the respect that is almost universally shown towards vintage Heuer models and that brand name - even by those critical of TH watches - or believes that looking forward doesn’t also include looking back to see where his company came from, then he most likely fears that splitting the brand would weaken TH, and is likely to stop using the Heuer name in the not to distant future.

Once Biver mentioned that there cannot be a “Heuer” without “TAGHeuer” roughly 5 years ago I let it go. The new Glassbox II is confirmation that they're trying to create an amalgamation of past and present so that's a win.

Or perhaps it is under estimated. Guess what the #1 best selling model is in a fairly large country (that I shall not name)?

I was quite surprised to learn it's not one of the cheaper models, like the Connected or F1. It's the Heuer branded C11 Monaco CAW211P.
Why would you not tell us the country? And who provided this fact? Must be a very small TAG Heuer market then right, otherwise it would make no sense for them to discontinue the 211P if it is the number one best seller in a large market?

Because the information was shared with me privately. Out of respect for the source, I felt it better not to name the country. The data comes from TAG Heuer for said country, which isn’t a small market by any means.

True that this may not reflect the global numbers. It is just one data point and less than 10% of the global market. But still a large enough sample to be relevant. Far better than your kind of "science". Lol.

BTW, the discontinuance of the CAW211P is just a rumor. I personally doubt it will happen until a successor product is ready for release.

I know the country, but I find it hard to believe. Maybe in value yes, because it is so overpriced.

OK if TAG Heuer provided data directly to you then yes this interesting 👍

I agree fully, you are skeptical about the 211P being discontinued since it is just a rumour. Then you understand why I was skeptical about your statement since you didn't say anything about source and even more important that you got the data directly from a person working at TAG Heuer. Thank you for clarifying bruh.

Why would you stop making a watch you are charging £6800 for that hasn't changed in 10 years... and if it is so successful where is the motivation to make a left hand in house movement? Which would cost a fortune, for the sake of one model (which probably has a finite life).

I wonder where these cancelation of 211P rumors came from?

It is interesting if they keep just one single model with the Heuer logo. Would be a bit hilarious if they changed nothing on the model except put a TAG Heuer shield on the dial and crown.

They certainly won't put a TH shield on the L/H Monaco. That would kill the sales dead. People who want that watch want it to say Heuer on it. As much as it must agitate Freddie, it can't be done. But if he did it would push up the prices of the 'Heuer' branded ones... but he won't. Remember, prime consideration is cash flow.

Really they should never have used the Heuer name again, then they wouldn't be in this mess. But they took the bait and now they have to deal with all this...

Hey Rob

If you could ask Frédéric anything at all what would the number 1 thing be?

I think most of the things I would ask I would know the answer, so it's kind of hard. I guess collectively we would all like to know sales figures for every model... but that ain't going to happen.

Oh, I know, does he think we will ever go back to 36mm being a normal man's size?

And does he actually believe the 36mm Carreras are unisex.

They must be unisex because he was wearing one at Monaco.

Jimbo tried one on and he said he felt awkward. Actually that's not what he said, but let's keep Hubert out of this

He make the best analogies in history.
