I wasn’t really comparing them in regards to style, more at the point that you get a lot more for your money with the Black Bay (in my opinion), and that the Aquaracer 300 does not justify a £3k rrp.
Sure, I get that. But for me I wouldn't buy a Black Bay because it's too old fashioned. So what is a viable alternative that looks similarly modern?

The Oris Aquis date, 5 days of power reserve, 10 year warranty - a modern looking diver watch, which is a lower price than the Aquaracer 300. Ultimately TAG Heuer are relying on their name to warrant their price, but as previously mentioned, people are being more careful with their money and doing their research. I can’t say anything in regards to world wide performance, but I don’t see many of the current 300s selling compared to the previous model.

Yes it all comes down to opinion and how much we value a specific brand. All these watches cost 200-500 to mass produce, with fully automated robot finishing, machine automation to the extent possible and a few repetitive hand assembly steps that they still haven't found ways to fully automate. In my opinion, the whole value for money perspective is flawed when it comes to most Swiss watches. These watches are cheap to manufacture and we pay insane over prices for brand, prestige and design.

I agree that the prices of all luxury brand watches are absolutely ridiculous and I really don’t understand why I’m caught up in this silly game of buying them. If we want mechanical watches why on earth don’t we buy Seiko powered Chinese ones for 200 quid? Take a look at Sugess as an example.

Equally, whilst I own Heuer and TAG Heuer badged watches, at their current prices I’d only buy one with a Heuer logo on it. As much as I like the new 39mm TH Carrera, I wouldn’t buy it because it’s too expensive to wear a TH logo (£5600). If it had a Heuer logo then I’d likely have bought it instead of the Black Bay 54 purchased recently.
To me, the BB54 offers much better value at £3200 - if I conveniently ignore that it’s £1000 over priced. Jeez, I’m down this rabbit hole far too deeply. Anyone know where the exits are?

Once you’re in, you’re in. There are no exits!

The Tudor Pelagos line. Or if one is willing to step up a notch in price, the Omega Seamaster Pro 300M. More expensive yes, but worth it (IMHO).

That thick ass 90's non tapering bracelet combined with the sterile bezel action (one of my least favourite bezels I've ever tried) kills the seamaster for me. But yeah, this whole discussion is rather pointless, in the end it all comes down to how much each one likes a particular watch or brand and where we are willing to spend retarded money on a cheap to manufacture product just because of the 'luxury' factor of branding.

Interesting. I know that branding is important to many, but at the end of the day these are all TAG Heuers, even if branded Heuer. I love my C12 TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf just as much as my C11 Heuer Monaco.

But I do feel that there are certain watches that are better suited to wear one logo vs. the other. The reverse panda could get away with the Heuer logo, since it has some retro touches. However to my eyes, it's still a modern design, so TH works just as well. OTOH, the blue version just wouldn't be right with the Heuer logo, it's not vintage looking at all to me. The H02 Monaco Dark Lord tribute could go either way, but it's also more modern than vintage in its style to me, so I'm fine with the TAG Heuer branding. But to be honest, I probably would like the Dark Lord more if it wore the Heuer badge, since it's a tribute to the original.

I tried on the Aquis years ago. I sorta liked it except the case is horrible. It looks like a saucepan.

I'm not a fan of the Seanaster, I do like those black and orange Planet Oceans but they are not comparable to Aquaracers on price.

Pelagos, yes but Tudor is so... dull. I do like the 42mm, but still something is off.

It's your choice of course but logically this makes no sense. It's not like Heuer is Grand Seiko to TAG's Seiko. All the most expensive watches in the range are TAGs.

I guess. But you can put a hat on a pig, it's still a pig.

I’m guessing this is just a “one-off” design for himself, but what’s the thoughts on this? Looks lovely in my opinion. TAG Heuer should get Bamford involved more often!

I don't understand the Blue Dreamer Subdial on this Elegant 42mm case. George must like it I guess.

Breaking it into 3 like that is something to do with yachting (don't ask me what). But many brands have done it, not just Heuer.

More misses than hits with Bamford but sometimes they’re really good. I have read comments that the finishing can be so and so though. The Bamford Monaco is still my favourite TAG Heuer released Monaco and the Aquaradar was also very good. At 40mm that would’ve been a no-brainer.

100%, if that Aquaracer was a 40mm I’d have been all over it!

The F1 is still where the big sales are at (after the Connected) and then the Carrera... but of course every Carrera = 4 F1s. The problem seems to be even if they make models that appeal to the market in the Carrera range they are just too expensive.

I still find that shocking - the Connected being their best seller, apart from on here, I've never seen one in the wild (apart from ADs)

Agree. I have seen one in the wild, ever. Everyone I know who wears a smart watch either wears Apple or Garmin Fenix/Epix.
