Went back for a second look, the reverse panda is growing on me a bit more.

Also spent time with @Aquagraph's new baby.

As you can see it is possible to get the green to show up by lighting it up, but it shows up every fingerprint on the bezel.

I think the Speedmaster is always a watch nerd favourite, because of its history and its unchanging design (I’ve had several, and currently have a vintage Ed White.) I do think it is very austere though. There’s never that moment where a sunburst dial or a polished edge catches your eye. I can imagine for most normal people there is a lot of appeal in the new Carrera. And a good chunk cheaper as well.

Looks like a partial green dial.
Why does it lose the green around the edges?

Yes, but IMO that's a huge part of what makes the Speedmaster such a versatile watch. Any strap, any situation it looks good in. Not quite the same with many 'flashier' watches. But like I said, I couldn't blame anyone for going either way, they both offer such different experiences I don't consider them direct competitiors

True dat…

That said, I’m also among those who think that the Moon Pro is a terrible bore. So I’d take the Carrera if I had to settle for a single black chrono.

I rather like how it color shifts. I'd nickname this watch the Green Lantern.

"In brightest day, in darkest night..."

"let those who worship evil's might..."

"...beware my power, Green Lantern's Light!”

I like your thinking. I call it the rainforest goblin.

Ok, this has definitely convinced me to get one. Still to see it in person!

I just watched that too, as it happens.

Definitely shows them off, in the absence of seeing them in real life.

It’s nuts that I am most intrigued at how the Pink will look, from a colour and size point of view.
