Like sir @abrod520 , I’ve always dreamed of the 911 Carrera. But since design cues really doesn’t change that much and 95% of all people doesn’t really know the difference between gens, I’d try and probably save up for it later 😗 (fingers crossed) figuring out what gen 😕

I'm partial to the 997 and 991, which are where I'm focusing. Maybe someday I'll make "new 911 money" but that's not coming anytime soon 😜

Even so, I'm staying the course - getting myself into position to go for one. Not interested in any other cars even if some (like the Z) really do sound pretty great

Saw that yesterday. The new Z is still a good buy, but it's not the choice for people who want tire shredding power.

American Muscle prevails!

Right from the start, I knew the Z wouldn’t out drag these two American muscle powerhouse. On a circuit track, the Z might have a chance or even shine more. The advertised 400 hp doesn’t really cut it since the stock 382 hp Supra is already around 400 WHP 😉

I saw from one review that they are comparing the Z akin to as “bigger miata” so it means power is not the selling point 🙄

I'm not a fan of all those harsh angles either, especially when it comes to JDM rides. It's hard to tell what the front fascia is gonna look like, but maybe if we tweak the brightness and do some color retouching, we can get a better idea.

Hi Guys! Just wanted to share. I bought a Nissan Z! 🎌 It took me 10 months waiting time for the Manual, since almost all shipment comes with an AT. And made me realize most (>90%) are truly buying AT. Got it specifically for the MT, since this will probably the last of its kind (Turbo, ICE, MT) I got drawn to it because of the looks and nostalgia of the 240Z, and all my love with Retro Modern / Neo Vintage vibe, very similar with the Heuer Heritage watches I got craze about the past recent years. Ordered when the Z was Launch here in PH 🇵🇭 September 2023 and got it July 2024. A simple beauty and better view in person than in pictures. 😍

PS: I’ve already done little tweaks here and there just to make the driving more focused, enjoyable and rewarding 😉

Congrats JP!!! Looks gorgeous!

What made you choose the Z over the Supra? I'm kind of surprised, since you always seemed to be a fan of Toyota and the Supra in the past.

@kappa_md, I saw the Z prototype earlier this summer. It's on display with a ton of other JDM legends, such as your favorite tofu delivery drift car, at LeMay America's Car Museum in Tacoma Washington.

Yeah! It seems a bit of a surprised even for my other friends, knowing I’m a diehard Toyota fan haha 😄

Several reasons why I ultimately chose the Z over the Supra.
1. I really wanted a Manual RWD 2 door coupe. And unfortunately, the Supra MT was never available here in our shores. I hold buying a Supra for quite sometime, hoping Toyota Motor Philippines will release the MT version here. After inquiry from close friends in Toyota, they told me the reality, that demand is super low for these types of cars much more a Manual. Bringing an MT Supra might be unrealistic. The Z was launched here with both the MT and AT, (although no MT stocks came in after 10 months!)
2. Based on performance and reviews, the Supra outclass the Z head to head. But despite knowing these, outright power and speed are not my priorities. I fairly keep the engine and transmission of my cars as stock as possible to maintain reliability and durability. I just add suspension/chassis tuning a bit, tires and wheels just to make it more personal. The Z feels fast just by stock alone! Just want to keep the power and speed under accepted street regulations to stay away from authorities haha
3. The Z has much more heritage and history against the Supra. Although the Supra is also legendary in its own right, I think the Z has more retro and nostalgic feel which surely got a hold on to me. 240Z, 1969 Same as the Heuer Monaco! The beauty and class of the Z is prettier in my eyes vs the Supra.
4. Although Toyota tested the Supra in reliability, the BMW tech and engineering got me worried. I have several local friends who owns the Supra and they keep getting drained batteries and oil consumptions even if they don’t use the car! The Supra is a very nice car no doubt but the ownership is a bit of a maintenance compared to JDM cars. This will be a weekend car to me and although I plan to use and enjoy the Z, I also want the hassle free ownership that can last longer til I passed it down to my children
5. And also, the Supra got a big price bump here. From 5M to 5.5M PHP (~95k USD) vs the Z 4M PHP (~70k USD) I told myself I’ll just use Supra excess money to buy Z mods which I did haha
For the modification I did
KW V3 coilover suspension
Eibach front and rear sway bars
Volk Rays TE37V 18s staggered (retro look)
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires
Cusco camber and toe arms
Z1 Motorsports underchassis bars
Z1 Motorsports braces and inserts
RSE Japan Titanium catback exhaust system
OEM splash guards front and rear, Fairlady Z emblem
Weathertech, 3M Crystalline 90, CarPro Ceramic coating etc

Now the Z is as planted and as enjoyable as my other cars!

I see @kappa_md. The choice for a MT might've been reason enough to tip the scales for me. Your car is a beauty, enjoy it!

But you always used to say Only Toyota, then Only Toyota and Honda. Now you've lost your symmetry of Toyota, Honda and TAG Heuer. You'll need to figure out a new way of working Nissan into your Toyota/Honda motorsports + TAG Heuer watch connection. LOL. 😉

Man and here I am in New York of all places, and I've still never seen one out on the road.

Meanwhile within a week of release I'd seen multiple 992 GT3RS and Dakars. 🤔

The NISMO body kit looks mean! 😎

I think if I were getting one, I'd opt for the Heritage Edition.
The Heritage Edition looks super cool! 😎 It’s a performance trim with the Heritage pieces. I’d like to get parts of it when available 😉

The upcoming Midnight Purple for the Japan market looks amazing too.
