Robert, the AR bezel is not ceramic? 😒

"I think it's more that I'm used to seeing the brighter red and blue on the Aquaracer Calibre 7 and also on the Rolex Pepsi, both of which are ceramic of course"

Not quite sure why it's a Calibre 7 as it isn't a GMT, but that's what it says on the dial...

TAG has two movements they call the Calibre 7, one is the gmt, the other is a less shitty calibre 5.

Just want to thank everyone who visits my blog for helping me reach 100,000 page views! 😀

And by the way, there has been another big delivery to Bicester Village, as soon as I get the prices I will be posting the list. One in particular may be of interest, a Heuer Carrera Calibre 7 in gold...

You should put that in your blog banner instead of advertising mother's day discounts in the outlet 😵‍💫 unless you get sponsored for it of course 😜

To the best of my knowledge, that isn't correct.

The Calibre 5 is an ETA 2824-2 or a Sellita SW200.
The Calibre 7 is an ETA 2892 or a Sellita SW300.
The Calibre 7 GMT is an ETA 2893-2 or a Sellita SW330.

Sure. I read the partnership article.

Never doubt them as a seller. Just concern about the shipping. Most of online purchase i've done usually involve me asking the seller "have you ever shipped to indonesia?" first.

Yeah if i find what i really want, i'll drop inquiries to them.

Out of curiousity. What was that carrera that was given to Ed Sheeren ? It looks super beautiful. Is it pre-owned vintage watch ?

You can check first at the official retailers and boutiques of The Time Place, in Jakarta, or you can inquire through their official website https://www.thetimeplace.co.id/b/27/tag-heuer

now it's easier online, if you want to be more sure you can come to a boutique, Good Luck

Sure, but the Calibre 7 GMT is commonly referred to as the 'Calibre 7'. GMT nomenclature is not particularly consistent across the range.

Why the hate for the calibre 5? Haven't had any issues with mine so far.

Was running about 30s/day slow when I bought it, got to about 2mins a day, then the winder stopped winding it and it started stopping every night. Not all of it is due to the watch, along the way my cleaner put my ipad case on top of it and probably caused magnetic damage, but I still think this is unacceptable for a tool watch like a calibre 5 aquaracer.

The watch itself I absolutely love, wore it daily for several months and then on and off for another few months until it just became too much of a pita. My real issue with the Calibre 5 is value for money, it's the cheapest version of a cheap, off the shelf movement. It would cost tag very little extra to fit the cosc certified version, but really they should be fitting an anti-mag, anti-vibration movement to their tool watches.

I can understand the frustration! Hopefully the new Isograph Calibre 5 movements take care of the magnetism issue and is overall an upgrade compared to the current standard Calibre 5.

Was having the similar problem. Except i am largely at fault in my case. I was the one who put it near my handphone all the time. Was a watch noob back then. But nothing that demangnatizer can't solve.

I share the same feeling, that AR is a tool watch and should withstand abuse better than that.

Honestly for me it's hard to pass Aquaracer design for diving watch that i want.

Just a heads up... TAG Heuer Bicester are doing an Easter Promo from the 8th to the 28th of April, 50% discount basically... more details to follow soon, but I can tell you there's a lot of Auto Aquaracers...

It's too bad that the Seiko dealer was so nasty. That MarineMaster with the Spring Drive is well worth the price. The Spring Drive basically takes out a traditional escapement and replaces it with a wheel that rotates constantly in the same direction. If left to spin freely, the wheel would rotate quite a bit faster than it should, and the watch would be quite fast (about double time), with a continuous second hand movement (no visible jumping). However, there is a quartz-regulated electromagnetic brake that slows down the wheel to to the proper rate. The quartz regulator constantly adjusts the braking force to keep the time at quartz level precision, but the movement itself is entirely mechanical. Even the quartz electronics are powered by a small generator which runs off the mechanical bits.

If you wanted to think about it like this, it's kind of like an automatic watch that is constantly being regulated by a little quartz guy inside of it. Instead of taking your watch to a watchmaker to be adjusted to keep right time, the watch is constantly auto-regulating. Most people reckon it as a Grand Complication. And the 72-hour power reserve is awesome too.

In any case, the Spring Drive 600m diver is a stunning watch at a great price. That's less than a Planet Ocean (also a 600m diver). And FYI the reason it's so light is that it's titanium.
