Can you just change the strap insteaf of selling it ? 😗

I thought about it, oh I thought about it... but the magic is gone, it's too late. There was a strap I saw that looked promising, one of those big brands... I can't remember, but it was a grey and orange strap not black. The experience was just depressing, I can't see that it was solvable other than doing what I did and I'm very happy with my new watch.😀

If it had been black, this might have worked.

Cool! Congrats man! A lot better than the orange F1 for sure!

Cheers Jim, I'm glad you agree! 😀

For the purposes of a future post, would anyone care to rank my watches (just your preference)? I've already got some data from a couple of people but the more the better really. I'm not including the new Grand Carrera because it's too new for me to be completely objective, and I am including the orange F1 I just sold.

Microtimer
Aquagraph
Calibre 16 F1 Orange/Black
Aquaracer Calibre S
Carrera Heuer 01 Skeleton 45mm
F1 Kirium
Aquaracer Chronotimer
6000 Series
Quartz F1 WAH1110

Also you can tell me where you would have put the Grand Carrera GMT if you like.

Thanks!
Rob

Nice choice, I tried one of those on at an outlet and was quite taken with it. My only issue is that it's a 12hr gmt dial which kinda defeats the point for me.

Sometime later on bumped into a mate wearing one, took me a while to identify it, but it looked really smart on his wrist

In order (I think)
Aquagraph
Heuer 01
Grand Carrera
Microtimer
F1
Kirium
Others

Thanks dtf, yes I didn't realise it was a 12hr dial until I came to set it - which in itself was a bit of a thing. I don't particularly care about the GMT function as I rarely go abroad, but the thing is you have to set the GMT and main hands together turning the crown one way and then put the main hands right going backwards.... which is fine except it's a bit confusing as to where you stand with the date. It does have a quick set date though - but then that adds another level of confusion. The great thing about the GMT version is that you get the large second hand, which is what I really wanted as none of my automatics have that. I agree though that a 12hr GMT is a bit hopeless!

Congrats on the new purchase. I personally would go for the white dial version if given the "offer-i-can't-refuse" situation. I didn't realize it was 12 hours GMT until @dtf mentioned it, but it wont be the turn-off for me. Love the double date window. I think you are thicking more than one box here. Namely:

-12 hours GMT (maybe you will want it after you have 24 GMT later. Who knows it even exist ?)
-A grand carrera !
-did i mentioned double date window ?
-chronometer
-calibre8

I'm personally love the non chronograph line of Tag Heuer although it's not really in-line with the tradition.

Congrats once again on your newest purchase.

Thanks Otto, I must admit I was never fussed about a big date double window, but I have to say it's pretty damn cool! And you're right this watch does tick a lot of boxes, just glad to finally have a Grand Carrera in my collection, I hope it won't be the only one.

Probably a beat up quartz Aquaracer from eBay.... or a Monaco 24! I'm definitely sold on the Grand Carrera now though, so maybe. I feel like a man without a plan at the moment...
