I think you clearly associate the colour with bad experiences.

I do like this watch, and I like the fact it is a fairly unique colour. But even I would prefer it in a nice blue 😀

Thank goodness for that, he's seeing sense everyone; stand down!

Wifey has done salmon in a pistachio crust, it may have been a error but tasted fine.😕

More pics....

I was in Bicester yesterday and somehow accidentally purchased one of these and upon searching the internet for info came across this thread and promptly joined the forum.
I was a little concerned at slightly conflicting serial numbers and the lack of “harrods” on the back as a little searching seems to show it should have but seems it is only one of 150 although he had at least 2.
I also found myself looking for a more daily use watch and purchased the special edition redbull they had.
Now to live on beans on toast for the foreseeable

Welcome to the forum, wow, that was a big spend in one go! Two fantastic watches you have there, I believe there is something about them not being able to have 'Harrods' on them because they are not being sold through 'Harrods', which is a bit odd... still, you saved a good chunk on the watch anyway and it's the nearest thing you can get to a Calibre 11 LE Autavia for under £7,000!

It was, I wasn’t actually planning on 2 together but the redbull was a great price and I’d decided on that when I saw the limited edition autavia.
The price was good, the watch looks great and I live nearly 300 miles away and just decided to go for it.
I’m hoping I’ve made the right choice as it’s a long way to come back

Are these your first luxury watches or do you have others?

These are my first. I have friends who have lovely collections who have tried to get me to start collecting but I like to collect many things and wasn’t really ready for watches but I found out about 6 months ago there was a run of 1000 tag mp4-12c watches and that peeked my interest.
I started looking and quickly wished I hadn’t as I found myself liking quite a few and after visiting various watch shops around the country (I travel a lot for work) with no joy I decided on a motorsport related tag to start me off, hence the Se redbull, but unfortunately I also saw the Le autavia and thought in for a penny and here we are

The McLaren watch is a hard one to value, it's not a 'classic' piece as it's such an oddity in the range... it was very expensive new, but towards the end of it's run it was selling for around £5000 brand new... nowadays it's hard to say what it's worth, it's a watch that may be difficult to find and you may have to pay over the odds to get it but then find it difficult to sell.

That’s kind of the reason I opted for both of these in one hit as the other option was to over pay for a used 12c watch.
This way I can scratch my itch and maybe one day get a deal on a 12c and add to my collection.

Yeah, that and the Grand Carreras fell victim to a price realignment really, I don't know if you noticed the Grand Carreras in Bicester? They are in the for about £5000 IIRC, list price £7500... but that's ridiculous when you can now get a Heuer 02 Monaco for £5500.

mp4-12c

I'm a fan of the Carrera MP4-12C too and hope to pick one up. Second hand prices can be quite variable but they seem to have been on the high side recently so patience may pay off.
