It would be odd, considering the 200 is clearly meant to be inferior. Old style clasp and ste bezel only.

Cos everyone wants smaller watches these days...

Personally & like many, that size is the sweet spot.

But I reckon the general public probably wear between 41-43mm. The big players Rolex, Omega have all increased the sizes of their divers over the last few years.

But there is also a push for the smaller watches & these trends are often cyclical.

I’m just observing what I see on Tags marketing mainly the Carrera & when not it’s the 200 Aquaracer

I dunno, I thought the quartz buying unwashed are the ones who like the 43mm watches?

I assumed that eventually there would be a ceramic bezel 40mm and a steel bezel 43mm to be honest. But maybe you're right, maybe they want to keep the 43mm automatic.

It's hard to say though, I think we are heading into tough times and they might try everything and anything to shift watches.

My money is on a full ceramic Monaco Solargraph. With a Tiffany blue dial.

Back in the real world, no one is buying anyway... in fact it seems like people are selling. WFs stock has gone up from about 290 to 420 over the last month, and that's just TAGS.

Interesting times for them then. Purchase prices must be rock bottom.

Can just imagine them taking full advantage of people desperate to sell for whatever reason.

In their defense: They have some pretty expensive high street locations (and the staff therein) to pay. Not just a warehouse in Amsterdam…

oh I know and fully understand their business model, being a bricks & mortar store.

Just a way to judge roughly what they will buy for. I think at one point they offered £2.5k for my Monaco.

That sounds like about what I would expect to be honest. Okay it sounds like a terrible offer, but they can probably sell it for £4000. And yeah it seems a big mark up, but they have a lot of overheads. The problem is really that the watch is terribly overpriced to start with. So yeah, I think roughly you should expect 1/3 of the list price for an outright sale so they can sell it below 2/3rds. Did you ask for a trade in price? Usually considerably better, especially if you are a repeat customer.

Are there any bookies who offer bets on the death of Swiss watch companies? Interesting discussion on ABTW weekly this week about how some watch companies need to die to be able to resurge in the future to be what they should be and can't change into in their existing form. They all think insane price increases will save them, it will be interesting to see how many Swiss watch companies are still thriving in 10-15 years.
