Used values of pretty much all new watches are falling, but I've long thought the used Monaco 'deals' at $7k and above have been too high priced and this is proof of that

This has to be a challenge to TH trying to push themselves up market

Indeed... also I noticed Steffans are discounting the Bamford LE Aquacer to £3400, but considering it can be had used for less than £2000 it don't seem like that great a deal. It's like two years old at this point too.

It's something every brand is going to have to contend with very soon.

Judging by the number of emails I'm getting from Watchfinder these days I would agree.

It’s certainly going to be an interesting time ahead as, just like you have already suggested, dropping prices doesn’t always result in increasing sales. This is especially relevant with luxury goods, with so much reliance on the perception of brands.

The issue is supply here - they're already making way more watches than there are buyers, and they want to raise prices on top of that. Sure, you'll still get a couple buyers new but dealers are gonna have to unload all that unsold stock somewhere

Yeah, and since they opened their own boutiques - it's their problem not the ADs like it used to be. Although, nearly all TAG Heuer boutiques are not owned by TAG anyway so maybe that was a smart move on their part.

Think we've found market price on Monaco LEs...

1k above the market price for CAW211P. That sounds about appropriate.

In that respect: The current (maybe outgoing?) 43mm AR can now be had (on steel) slightly below 2.5k through large & reputable German jeweler chains.

Secondary and grey market prices are closer to $1500-1600 US for WBP series Aquaracer 43mm

Maybe outgoing? What makes you think this? Only been here for two years.

Are we talking about EU? List price here is 3.4k EUR. So, we're talking -30% at AD (not grey market). Openly and publicly.

@Aquagraph - 2 years? That doesn't sound right... Are you mixing it up with the AR 200?

Not new from AD, but the price you'd pay if you weren't tied to that.

Technically soon 3 years I believe, was introduced spring 2021 IIRC. Feels very soon if they already kill it but perhaps it didn't sell well enough

Agreed: Three years for the 300m/43mm and two years for the 200m/40mm. Probably neither is outgoing then. Just the free play of market forces on display here.

But what makes you even think it's outgoing? Watches don't get renewed that quick, the WAY series was around for about 6 years..

Part of me feels they are going to push the 200 series more and solar. Rather than concentrate on the 300P, I could be wrong but think it may go this year.
