TH Carrera Crono vs TH Carrera caliber 5 Pricing

Hello everyone,

I have been baffled time after time seeing that the 3 hand TH Carrera caliber 5 is priced over the Chronograph.

could someone shed some light? What am I missing.

any help will be appreciated.

I should mention that I always buy on the second hand market.

I understand that I have examples of different eras in the pictures below, but they are just examples.

I should also mentioned that I have seen the 3 hander below $1000 usd, and the Chronograph above $2000 usd.

Thanks again.

Well yes the used market doesnt always make "sense". I find it hard to believe that the cbm2110 shown first in your post will be cheaper than the cal 5 but for some reason the cv2010 has never been very popular, for a long time very cheap in the used market.

After I posted the question, I started thinking exactly about that. I see the same phenomenon on Chrono24, crown and caliber, eBay.

thanks for taking the time to reply

Not all 3 hands are cheaper than the Chrono counterparts. Also the CV2010 is way older (~2005) compared to the WAR201E (~2015) thus the pricing. The Chrono Carrera uses Calibre16 and the 3 Hand Carrera uses Calibre 5. Both of which are mass market ubiquitous movements used by TAG Heuer. I guess the current condition also plays in the pricing of each. HTH sir

Yes, I also think that in this particular example, the three hander looks in mint condition while the chronograph looks quite worn (just look at the top of the tachymetre bezel, and even in a low quality image we can see that it’s quite damaged), so if both watches were in same condition, the price of the chronograph would be higher
