That's our solution right there! We'll give you a few thousands, set your Delorean to go back to the 60's, and just bring back all the original Carreras. Problem solved! 馃榿

Yes, the challenge with those Deloreans is getting them to go past 88 MPH.

Yes, my gripes with the Telemeter are well documented. What gives me hope, are the revisions made for the Skipper & The Rake LEs.

Nevertheless, still think a ~41mm case, like the Jack Heuer Calibre 17 models, would be better.

Here's a side-by-side shot that I just took, to help illustrate the differences.

Here's a snap from a video that compares the Telemeter against a vintage Carrera. Notice the circumference.

Here's a crop from a picture from On The Dash to show how the original Carrera compares to the Jack Heuer 80.

Love the visual comparisons. Given the great reception of the Skipper and The Rake Carreras, it's such a no brainer to give a 60s Carrera new life as part of the heritage group. Black dial, white dial, panda, reverse panda....... Take. My. Money.

If there's no news on this by 2020, I give up.

If the Cal 18 case lost the glassbox crystal then it might look a bit better? Is that even possible?

The skipper looks so nice because it only has 1 subdial, resulting in a nicely proportioned dato. Unfortunately the second subdial makes the whole thing a bit crosseyed imo. The dials are just too close together. The glassbox is unnecessary and makes the already thick case look even thicker. The curved dial edge on the telemeter then again makes the dial look smaller, too small. The proportions of this watch don't work for me. However, a single subdial reverse panda would. That way the curved dial won't stand out as much and the dial will appear bigger. The markers of the skipper and the rake are a big improvement over the telemeter. And we need a bracelet.

Yep! Slowest car ever.

LS swap it! Or whatever you do, dump the PRV.

Wayyy too much empty space on a 41mm model. Talk about looking cross-eyed! Next to the JH80 the Telemeter looks downright classic. (And next to an actual Carrera, the Telemeter looks porky, so that's saying something!)
39 is the max for something like this to avoid looking like a dinner plate. I'd like to see how a slimmer Heuer-02 (maybe with the running seconds & date removed) would look in a 38-39mm case.

Despite lots of people wanting normal glass for the telemeter. I like the telemeter as it is.

Was wondering too though, how it will look like with normal glass.

Probably similar to your other Carrera.

If the Ronnie Peterson edition uses a "Calibre 11" (Sellita/ Dubois-Depraz) movement, could this be used in a 60's inspired Carrrera case?
This would solve the subdial separation problem we see on the Calibre 17 and 18.

The "Calibre 18" is also a Sellita / DD modular movement. Perhaps the version used for the "Calibre 11" could be modified (again) to return the crown to the right side, but the truth is this is still a very thick movement and we'd still have the more fundamental issue of a monstrously tall watch. Personally, I'd rather see TAG get creative with the Heuer-02 rather than continue selling these cheap movements for full price

I agree with you. Let's hope they do that soon.
