The dial on the 6000 is total douchebag!! I LOVE it!! 馃グ
Isn't it? Real tacky and drips 1990's. 馃槈

One thing I'm curious about the 6000 is the gold crown and gold case inserts (between bezel and case).
Are they solid gold? The case back reads "STAINLESS STEEL AND 18K GOLD". I can't find a definitive answer.
Also, how about the hands and dial? I would think the dial is gold plated, not solid.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

From what I've read, the case was a combination of steel and solid 18k gold. Upon its release in '92, the 6000 was positioned as the top of the line model, using precious metals and having an automatic chronometer version. But even the quartz versions used precious metals to make them more premium.

However, I would suspect the dial is just gold colored and the hands might be gold plated.

My modest collection of 90's watches as of today. Two more, possibly three on the way. A 2000 and a Link in transit. A 4000 still hasn't shipped after 10 days. I don't think I'll see that one and will have my money refunded. It's a shame because I bought it at a great price. Maybe that's why it hasn't shipped. The seller might have realized he sold it too cheap. We'll see.

Had bad luck with two others. A 2000 exclusive was lost (stolen?) in transit and I'm still waiting to get a refund. A 2000 chrono that I had to return because the chrono didn't function. The seller said it did but no. Didn't work.

Great to see someone collecting these older watches. Looks like you have picked some really good quality pieces here and you've done well to find them with the plating still in good shape. That 6000 is the pick of the bunch for me but they're all nice.
