This is what I received with the watch.

I assume this date is in the International Guarantee booklet. The watch was purchased from Yodabashi Camera (I can read some Japanese), which is a pretty famous store in Japan. I've visited many times.

The Japanese typically date things as Year, Month & Day. So the watch was likely bought on 2001, Feb 14th. This is a bit curious, because I would've expected an '80s or early '90s date. So it might mean it was sold as NOS if bought in 2001. Unless that date is when it was purchased as a pre-owned watch, but I don't believe Yodabashi Camera sells "Pre-owned".

Yes. In the IG booklet. Thanks so much for the info. I thought it was a mis-matched box because I read the date as 1/2/2014.

Yeah, I was confused by the date at first too. But after checking some of my watch purchases from my Japan visits, found they are all dated this way (yr.mo.day). TAG switched to plastic and faux leatherette boxes in the 90s. The latter often self destructed with time, so you're lucky getting the box you have.

The 3000 series ran from '82 until '89. Yours looks to be the last year model.

"There was one detailed change to the 3000 Series watch for its last year in 1989/1990. The very last of the series dropped the 3000 name from the dial entirely and replaced the monochrome TAG Heuer logo with a colored logo."

Yes. The box and the outer cardboard. The box is in such good condition, I thought it might be from a newer model instead of the 3000. The box and cover are in great shape considering they're from the 1980's.

I got a different blue box. Plastic and shallower.

Viceroy Day. I was lucky enough to find this with its original ppwk intact.
Ah yes, the old Service Merchandise days... Nice!

My 3000 came in this box. No idea if they were ever sold with this box.
Your box is very similar to the box @bdev got with his 3000, only difference is his is TAG Heuer branded and yours is Heuer. They both look period correct as your watch is Heuer branded and @bdev's is TAG Heuer branded.

@Aquagraph's TAG Heuer 3000 box is also period correct. It's similar to the NOS Heuer 1000 Night Diver that @Snowy owns. All of these watches and boxes are from the 80's.
