Congratulations - nice to see a classic S/el restored to its' former glory !
Thank you! 😀
As I bought it new about 25 years ago, I don’t care so much what this restoration has cost me (and I also put a new strap/end links/deployant on recently), because -in addition to sentimental reasons- if I compare it with what the watch cost me in the 90’s, it’s not that much 😉

Definitely outlive those wrist computer thingies.😗
😁 For sure! And by the time those digital connected modules stop working, my two mechanical modules are ready to outlive and replace them, too 😉

But meanwhile 'those thingies' are useful for receiving notifications from the phone, and fun for the variety that they allow 👍

Yes, that's what I thought... 🙁. Probably cost more than I paid for the watch!
I bought an OEM TH leather replacement strap for my SEL ana-digi about 8 years ago. IIRC, it was about $175 USD. I haven't checked prices recently, but would expect (hope) it would be around the same price.

Hmm, I bet the end links aren't cheap either...
I should have clarified, the price I paid included the end links, buckle, and strap. I didn't need the links or buckle, but it was sold that way.

Oh really, then that's not bad at all - considering the 'gold' textile strap for my Aquaracer is about £230!

Right, I've asked the question... I shall report back with an up to date price. I figure it's probably easier to spend money on straps this year as sneaking those into the house are probably easier than new watches.😁

I have always found that to be the case!

But you still need to have your phone with do you not? Belt and braces approach.

Yes, but I usually carry my iPhone in the back pocket of my pants, and if there is ambient noise I don't hear it, so receiving warnings (and vibration) on my wrist is useful. It would certainly be even better if the watch had its own SIM card to be able to leave the phone at home on certain occasions... perhaps the fourth generation of the TH Connected will have it 😉

Would even be better when you can have conversations with your car with it::rimshot::.

So the SEL strap is £83, not including the buckle. Assuming that includes the end links....???

Not sure, maybe not. You should check with the seller to be sure.

When I was looking for a replacement strap, it was usually either just the strap or complete with end links & buckle. I ended up buying the complete set because the place I bought it from was selling it for close to the same price as other places who were selling just the strap.

Yes I will definitely do that before I order it. I ordered my rubber strap for my Aquagraph and it came without a buckle. I guess the point is if you just need a replacement for the rubber you don't need it.

Still keeping on, 'reflecting on the S/el'......

My latest (!) one just arrived, a 'straight' WG1112 quartz, with metal bracelet and white dial. This one's more Ron Dennis than Ayrton Senna.
Condition is very nice, and once again it came with original booklets and box/case. All three of mine have come via trusted e-bay dealers, and for what you get, the prices are very reasonable.

They're fun to own for me - just so reminiscent of the McLaren/Senna/Prost era.
