26k well spent on a perfectly finished luxury Roooolex 😒

A very entertaining review from ABTW. As David said on the ABTW podcast, this watch is so bad he would not argue if he was told the watch was fake

Interesting. Especially this quote from the article:
It is difficult to bring to an even polish or an accurate and elegant brushed surface. This is why most titanium watches have a mushy surface that is neither brushed nor polished...
Someone must have forgotten to tell Grand Seiko, though. The zuratsu polished and brushed surfaces on the titanium spring drive could almost pass for steel if it wasn't for the greyer colour of the metal. (Photo credit: Beans and Bezels)

Haha that is a very good point! Have you tested the metal though, are you sure they really use titanium? No but seriously, higher grade titanium can be treated more like steal, presume GS use a more expensive grade titanium

Good question. On my model, the SBGA415, they use something called "high intensity titanium" apparently:
https://grandseikogs9club.eu/grand-seiko-cases/

"The hardness of High-Intensity Titanium is much higher than that of pure titanium, and Brilliant Hard Titanium is around four times harder than stainless steel. Because Grand Seiko’s titanium is so hard wearing, there is no need for the use of any surface coatings, which can diminish the brilliance of the metal. Using a coating can also limit one’s ability to refinish their watch in the future.

Generally, Grand Seiko’s titanium watches are priced higher than comparable stainless steel models. This is largely because the raw material is more expensive to produce, and working with the metal is more labor intensive."

Thoughts ?
Honestly, I think it's not right to cross the Seamaster with the Speedmaster in this way. What's it got to do with the moon? And this one doesn't even have Swatch on it.

It's just a fun fan made photoshop. Probably would sell like bonkers if Swatch made it, but I hope they don't. Much prefer my real one. 😁

Taking the Moonswatch to the extreme ends of its limits.
If it comes about I can imagine the hysteria

Yeah, I can't see it happening. This is a marketing nightmare.

I feel this whole panda mania has taken focus from what this forum is all about.
I never get tired of looking at the BB58. Nice shot! 👍

Great strap 😉
Thank you, it was actually a gift from a good friend of mine. He is obsessed with these Lunar straps and I can see why
