Nice early xmas gift for all recent Omega customers. They've raised the warranty for all (new) watches bought since july to 5 years. Even pieces previously only covered by 2 years. So the newer caliber watches ‘only’ get an extra year. But a good thing for all customers. Hopefully TH will come under pressure to increase from the relatively measly 2 years of cover, if even for their newer releases. 2 years on a ‘luxary’ watch costing £5k plus seems a bit uncompetitive jow compared to the competition.

Read an interview with the CEO of Breitling the other day, apparently they are ditching their quartz watches completely... but at the same time they are expanding their Breitling for Bentley range to include ladies watches. Seems contradictory to me, historically women much prefer quartz watches, it's just the way it is... there will be exceptions of course, but by and large I'm sure that's true.
They are also moving their base price up to £3500, thus making the brand more 'luxurious' while also jumping wholeheartedly on the 'vintage' bandwagon and following TAGs lead in employing countless random ambassadors (anyone seen that lady surfer wearing the Navitimer? I'm sure that performs great on a surfboard...).
I used to quite like Breitling, but I'm going off them more and more, if they ditch the rubber straps they will be truly dead to me.

Just kidding. But I really hate the new Breitling and what you are describing is so true. Schneider is Breitling and will always be to me.

The thing about increasing prices is so embarrasing considering that at the same time they are lowering the level of details on the watches. Plain casebacks, less complex polishing.

Another really luxurious aspect is changing the logo to only use the older B version buuuuut keep using the pin buckles with the wing logo making it obvious that they use old stock to save money...

I'm not sure they are increasing prices, I presumed he meant by ditching the quartz models they would be dumping the sub £3500 range...

Guess I'd better buy that skyracer colt ASAP! I don't like all the old breitling range, but I like some of it, the new stuff does nothing for me at all.

Me neither. I hope they aren't going to sacrifice they Hurricane Avenger on the altar of vintage... after all, I'm not sure how much longer this 'vintage' wave can be ridden, there's already mutterings in the watch press that the industry needs to stop re-issuing itself into oblivion and I agree. There's a place for it sure, but sooner or later you've got to stop remaking the past and show something genuinely 'new'.

Hurricane will be sacrificed, Breitlight has no future in Breitling unfortunately

Yes do that, Skyracer went out of production with less than 1 year on the market

Hi! My father took this out of the safe and showed it to me for the first time, he has the idea to sell it. It is from his dad (my grandfather). Of course it is original, he thinks his dad bought it in the 30’s or 40’s, it works great! Do you have any idea the value of this? Or any website of old omega watches where I can find an approximate value? Thanks in advance for your help!

Since the first buzz on the social media many people had said so.

I do feel the ONLY nice Daytona is the Paul Newman.
(No offence for any proud owner of modern Daytona. It's a very good watch, just matter of my personal preferance)

Need help determining what I have here.
I know it's a Orator 17 Rubis Chronograph. It was my fathers watch and I believe he had it during WW2. I'm not 100% sure of the WW2 era but that's what I remember. It is currently not working (broken main spring) and would cost approx 750.00 USD to repair it. I just had a new crystal installed and the tech that installed it said the repairs would include a mainspring and the replacement of other worn parts.
If anyone has info on this model watch I would appreciate it. Or maybe you can point me in the right direction on the net.

Yes, it's huge and this infographic does not list all the component manufacturers that Swatch own, such as ETA.
