·Thanks @Mspeedster my only concern is how reflective it is, if I can’t read the time in the daylight it’s pointless. But VFM on looks you cannot go wrong with Seiko.
@bpsmith Looks like Tudor may have listened to you ♀️ fans - https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-tudor-pelagos-fxd-chrono-cycling-edition
Now that is nicely done. Cheers for letting me know @McBeardy
I would have liked Tudor Pro Cycling branding with red text personally, but there was a bit of backlash on the Alinghi RB version, so I get the choices taken there.
Alternatively, pink to replace the red and could have used Giro d’Italia branding. Now that would have been excellent too.
I have to say that I am loving my FXD Alinghi. Such a comfortable thing to wear and great to stare at. 😀
Managed to pick up the rubber strap from a BB54 & t-fit clasp OEM & brand new for eBay (for a great price compared to RRP).
Went for a trial fit tonight (as this will be a birthday present next month).
Annoyingly the spring bars I have from both the bracelet and nato are too thick. I presume I need BB54 only ones.
I do have a box of cheap spring bars with a strap changing kit but none were the correct 20mm size (plus I didn't feel like cheap ones would be ideal).
Anyone know of the correct ones? Guess a call to the AD tomorrow.
I do also like the look.
Does mean I'll eventually have the trifecta - OEM bracelet, NATO & Rubber strap, the leather for me shows a gap between case and strap which annoys me. Depending how much I like the t-fit, I do have a price for the t-fit bracelet also.
Edit looks like I need 1.5mm rather than the 1.8mm standard, now I know next to nothing on the differences between spring bars, do we reckon OEM only from an AD or an alternative as good as Tudor
i still need to try on the Alinghi FXD (time only) I think the colours are on point for that model.
All I can tell you from my experience with the OG BB 41 ETA is that its bracelet and NATO do indeed use different springbars (/springbar diameters), but I cannot speak to which uses what.
Probably best to check with an AD/Bucherer/Tudor boutique near you in order to be sure.
You should! Absolutely love mine. Plan was to buy loads of different colour straps for it, but so far the original is proper floating my boat and wears very comfortably, so haven’t bothered.
Forgot you went time only and not chrono! Looks great my only issue is I don’t think the L2L size will work with me 50mm is my max.
Personally I like to keep strap options OEM rather than aftermarket (which I know isn’t always best).
Side note, do you motive the co branding much?
Hmm aiming to pick up a BB36 next month, that would take it to 3 Tudors in the house, must resist another ha
Chopard Mille has released a nice tribute to Jacky Ickx. This is what TH coulda shoulda done as well.
