Congrats @McBeardy!!! 👍 Hard to go wrong with a Seiko, hopefully you won't return this one. 😜

Thanks @Mspeedster my only concern is how reflective it is, if I can’t read the time in the daylight it’s pointless. But VFM on looks you cannot go wrong with Seiko.

Managed to pick up the rubber strap from a BB54 & t-fit clasp OEM & brand new for eBay (for a great price compared to RRP).

Went for a trial fit tonight (as this will be a birthday present next month).

Annoyingly the spring bars I have from both the bracelet and nato are too thick. I presume I need BB54 only ones.

I do have a box of cheap spring bars with a strap changing kit but none were the correct 20mm size (plus I didn't feel like cheap ones would be ideal).

Anyone know of the correct ones? Guess a call to the AD tomorrow.

I do also like the look.

Does mean I'll eventually have the trifecta - OEM bracelet, NATO & Rubber strap, the leather for me shows a gap between case and strap which annoys me. Depending how much I like the t-fit, I do have a price for the t-fit bracelet also.

Edit looks like I need 1.5mm rather than the 1.8mm standard, now I know next to nothing on the differences between spring bars, do we reckon OEM only from an AD or an alternative as good as Tudor

Not returned, but passed to my dad, to add to his growing collection of Seiko. Trial run in the garden I couldn't tell the bloody time ha.

Still think it looks cool & with a black nato would look cool AF

@bpsmith Looks like Tudor may have listened to you ‍♀️ fans - https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-tudor-pelagos-fxd-chrono-cycling-edition

Now that is nicely done. Cheers for letting me know @McBeardy

I would have liked Tudor Pro Cycling branding with red text personally, but there was a bit of backlash on the Alinghi RB version, so I get the choices taken there.

Alternatively, pink to replace the red and could have used Giro d’Italia branding. Now that would have been excellent too.

I have to say that I am loving my FXD Alinghi. Such a comfortable thing to wear and great to stare at. 😀

i still need to try on the Alinghi FXD (time only) I think the colours are on point for that model.

All I can tell you from my experience with the OG BB 41 ETA is that its bracelet and NATO do indeed use different springbars (/springbar diameters), but I cannot speak to which uses what.

Probably best to check with an AD/Bucherer/Tudor boutique near you in order to be sure.

You should! Absolutely love mine. Plan was to buy loads of different colour straps for it, but so far the original is proper floating my boat and wears very comfortably, so haven’t bothered.

EDIT: No pun originally intended on the boat referencing. lol

Thanks both the bracelet & the nato I own (OEM) have what seem to be thicker spring bars (presume 1.8mm) and the rubber strap looks to take 1.5mm, hopefully the AD can be helpful!

Forgot you went time only and not chrono! Looks great my only issue is I don’t think the L2L size will work with me 50mm is my max.

Personally I like to keep strap options OEM rather than aftermarket (which I know isn’t always best).

Side note, do you motive the co branding much?

Hmm aiming to pick up a BB36 next month, that would take it to 3 Tudors in the house, must resist another ha

I think they state that it’s 52mm lug to lug on the time only, which doesn’t quite tell the true story as they measure it to the ends of the fixed bar area. This is hidden by the strap and this wears no different to my Seamaster Diver on my 6.5” wrist. In fact, it might look a little smaller given the case colour and strap being thinner than bracelet.

I prefer OEM too generally, but this one is designed for easy changing with the fixed lugs. Proof that OEM is the right way might be the fact that I have t tried anything else yet? Was tempted to source one of the extra rubber straps that come with the the black titanium models, but that’s changed after seeing this new strap, which would suit the Alinghi too. Standard blue one is real nice though.

What branding!?! Seriously, i have to actively look for it during everyday wear. If setting the time in that area, I just use the bezel, unlike those moaning about it who don’t own one. It really is a non entity for me, even though I have no issue with it being there anyway. I would actually liked to have seen Tudor Pro Cycling on this new one in same place.

I am a big fan of Tudor too. They just seem to hit the right spot for my taste, despite having just the one. I am determined to be good this year though. 😀

I will be watching every second of the Giro over this next 3 weeks, starting at 12:30 today, so just hope that the Tudor sponsored branding doesn’t subliminally sew the seed.

Definitely one out first, if I do ever get another. Wouldn’t be the current FXD though.

Funny enough, I was on Chrono24 just now looking for a BB58.

Christian actually talking sense for once. Particularly viz the 'watch community' vs the 'watch market'
