Alternatively, they could spread the remakes out more over other models and eras. That would be rather more inclusive and ignite the fire in a wider range of customers?

Britt actually says she's a fan of '90s TAG in her video. Which she said they should also leverage, as well as heritage Heuer. Because the youngsters are into the 90s fashion and that was TAG's decade.

Maybe you agree with her more than you think. (Aside from heritage Heuer, but many of us are also into that, even if you aren't.)

To be honest my bar for inclusion as a TAG HEUER SUCKS video is quite low. If it has a clickbaity title and/or thumbnail then it's in even if the actual content is more balanced. I mean I don't see videos like 'The problem with Breitling' or 'Why does everyone hate Omega'. But clearly not everyone hates TAG Heuer, just a section of the 'watch community' which itself is only a small part of the watch buying community.

Anyway, I'm distracted now as I just had a horrendous thought. What if TAG's idea of 'taking care of the Senna watch' means using the gold panda glassbox as a base.

It would make a lot of sense wouldn't it? Very round case, similar size... oh Jesus no.

The latest discussion has been interesting, as it’s given a much better insight into where people stand on their watch taste, so thank you for that.

By my dislike for the new glass box, plus admitting that I think the previous ones were better, I guess I am not against heritage as much as I thought even if I don’t want to purchase in that area.

My feeling has always been that I just don’t like the whole heritage is Everything, period end. 😀

It feels like there’s more effort put into the backstory than the watch itself quite often.

I genuinely feel that they should focus on new designs, even if there are some old school touches built into that, but not attempt to literally just do a remake on every single piece.

Imagine the impact of a tribute watch every few years, with more focus on new designs and materials in between, than 10 of them over the same period?

I guess I just want something fresh to reignite my interest, rather than seeing that at many other brands of late.

I’m sure I’ve missed many replies & have been meaning to wade in, (joys of young children & having man flu).

My thoughts for what they are worth, I’m generally drawn to iconic/ classic designs which in the part may have a retro feel (blame the fact I grew up driving VW Bugs & love old retro motors), but also love my Red Wing boots & selvedge jeans. If I’m spending money on something buy once, make it last and enjoy the scars. (Apart from my car that bugs the funk out of when scratched).

Buying watches, have to have a good design (ideally none of my bug bares - date windows, lumed bezels, etc ideally), good movement (something that lasts longer than 48hrs and not quartz) & price (after all I don’t have a huge disposable income).

The iconic/ classic design linked to the price, I don’t want to spend money on something I don’t think will last, especially as I want a small collection & I wear my watches. Hence I like the Sub, Speedy, Monaco, DJs, Tank, BB58 etc also they above have a retro feel. (Prefer the older Subs than the new ones - but admire what they are).

I also like modern looking watches, Pelagos, Seamaster, Aquaracer, but as mentioned above other details have to align. Currently I love the look of modern Aquaracer 300, but it doesn’t meet my criteria with the price/ movement aspect. (I can deal with the date).

With the Glassbox queries I prefer the older gen1, & not the modern gen2 purely in the design element, date at 12 on the black, tachymetre scale inside the glass, it just looks odd IMHO.

TH are at a cross roads I feel, they are actively looking to move up the hierarchy of Swiss Watch brands, in doing so RRPs are increasing, those older fans/ WIS will demand more (movement wise etc) for the price, less quartz. The average buyer will be swayed by marketing & design.

I think the older discusses Heuer heritage releases would be good (& keep the hardcore WIS happy) with TH branded new watches using forward thinking materials and ‘in house’ movements would be ideal. However I don’t think that will happen (unless a sister brand created ala Rolex/ Tudor).

I feel quartz will be phased out maybe except the ‘jump on the bandwagon F1 MoonSwatches) with the solar quartz being the staple, and TH slowly moving ‘in house’ and increasing RRPs.

Heritage throwbacks may only be limited production going forward, and for big mark ups.

You have a point. But that's also like judging a book based on what the cover looks like.

In her video, "the TAG Heuer problem" is that TAG has become polarizing in the watch community. Something that seems to distress her, as much as it does many of us. I felt her video was well thought out, it resonated with me.

Regarding the gold glassbox case for the Senna model, I highly doubt it. There's nothing Senna about the glassbox to me. Also, in the Revolution video Wei specifically said the "Link" on Senna's wrist. So I took Julien's response to mean the Link and/or a Senna version. Wei seemed to already know that TAG had something in the works and I believe he purposely said "Link" for a reason. Because we all know Senna wore the S/el. But any new version would be a Link.

What bothers me even more is I know that video that Wei Koh was referring to. When Senna test drives the Honda NSX-R, highlighted by his heel & toe technique wearing loafers. He's actually wearing a 6000!!! 🫨

For the forum darling Tudor BB58 owners. Details of the new BB58 ‘leak’ for W&W24
must say think I prefer the OG with gilt bezel & red triangle. But I do like the new crown, METAS and bezel edge.

I also have the magazine in which it refers to

The OG is so good, it'll take a lot more than those changes to make me consider buying another one.

They should leave it alone. Is it broke? So why are they trying to fix it?

Presume they’re trying to go METAS with all their range, and in doing so a new clear link between all there models. New bezel new crown etc
