·Here are my pair of vintage early 1970s Yemas, which I like to call the French Heuer...
a Rallye Formica and an Alpine-Renault branded Yema Rallye
As many of you know, Yema, is a French watch manufacturer and pretty similar to Heuer, known for sporting chronographs (motorsports, sailing, etc.). Not as well known as their Swiss counterpart, they kind of have a cult following in the vintage watch world. One cool fact is that Mario Andretti actually wore a Yema Rallye (rebranded Wesley's) chronograph during his 1969 Indy 500 win.

Agreed, really too bad they've reserved that for just the cycling team. What's the point of doing that when you don't make anything similar available to purchase? There's no regularly available DLC Black Bay Chrono at all, much less with the cool red accents - there was a limited edition for the All Blacks Rugby team but that was it.

·I believe the name comes from the colour of their kit (all black) as opposed to any reference to skin colour. I don't see the problem with that. It is a colour after all (OK, I'm sure someone will try and argue with me that black isn't a colour, rather the absence of light 😀)
