Looks like Omega are following the Aquaracer fume style with their new 75th anniversary pieces. Thread on OF if anyone was interested.

https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-seamaster-75th-anniversary-leaked.160426/
I took note of that fume dial too, TH leading the way. lol

However, as @abrod520 mentioned in that thread, I have my doubts that the pic shown is "the" 75th Anniversary Seamaster. I'd guess it's possibly a new addition to the line, just like how TH has brought out several new Carreras this year. I'm hoping that the specific anniversary watch is more vintage inspired.

I agree. If it was the 75th anniversary Seamaster, the ad would have stated that.

Managed to pop into my local AD, must say very impressed & probably my favourite iteration, fits my wrist much better on the strap rather than the bracelet.

Excuse my Rolex ignorance, but how come this has a 24 hour subdial and the normal one has a 12 hour one?

Interesting article that explains some technical details about the 24 hour subdial.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/carolb...-24-hours-of-le-mans-daytona/?sh=ba0a68d7074e

From the article: "Also, instead of the hour totalizer counting 3, 6, 9 and 12, it counts 6, 12, 18 and 24, reflecting the fact that the new movement, caliber 4132, counts the chronograph hours over 24 hours instead of the model’s usual 12 (with caliber 4131). This capability is made possible by means of an additional, patented mechanism that Rolex calls a gear reduction system, which in technical terms is called an epicyclic reducer. It essentially halves the rotational speed of the gear train that turns the 24-hour hand. "

^The simple answer is because it was released for the 24hours of Le Mans.

Rolex wanted the watch to be able to time the full 24 hours rather than 12.

Which is silly because racers had been using their standard 12h counters since before electronic timing.

Yeah, it's what I thought. Basically gearing it to half speed.... the odd thing is I watched a video about it earlier and they mentioned that they had changed the '12' to '24' but nothing more as if it was just cosmetic, like TAG sometimes change the 12 to 24 (Formula 1 Calibre S springs to mind). But then I looked at the dial and saw it was marked 6 12 18 24 and I knew there had to be more to it than that.

Nice enough - I have to say I’ve had the green on my wrist on both bracelet and rubber and neither are for me. It’s just that tad bulky. The Seamaster is one of those watches I like on everyone else, but not me.

got to say though, still terrific value if you like it.

This is one of the best variations of the Daytona I’ve seen. Too bad it’s in white gold with a 40k price tag.

not sure I dig the 100 in red (a bit omega like for me), but all in all fab. Would love to own one.

starts to make me miss my black ceramic!

On the bracelet definitely a no from me. L2L too big & no taper on the bracelet.

On the rubber found L2L no issue & thickness no problem. Seems less than my Monaco.

Even the ‘Reece’s pieces - HEV’ didn’t mother me.

I liked the woodland green colour & the modern style Seamaster goes for.

Unsure if the colour is just a fad, although I liked the darkness of this. The mismatched lume would bug me, but overall could see me owning it.

Only other concern is when Omega release the new variant, I find the generation is replaced look very dated.

It’s hard to see why the L2L is an issue on the basis it has female end links. I think it’s just a fairly horrible bracelet much like the Tudor ones - extremely heavy. In fairness, it has a great micro adjust.

I always find the rubber billows out a bit. It’s one of those watches that, whichever way I look at it, is just not for me.

I want to like it because at the price you can get them for they are terrific value comparatively.

Maybe the contrast between the rubber strap & case visually makes it look less on the L2L.

Agree VFM is very good & cannot beat them.

Whilst maintaining respect for those who like them, I am afraid to say that I just don't. Probably a bit big for me anyway, but personally dislike the dial designs, case shape and sticky out crown guards. My view may also be slightly coloured by people I know who own one. Sorry!

Now you are talking my wheelhouse!

Probably the first brand I was into & massively into.

Always wanted a 372 (pretty much an historic model do modern) 47mm sandwich dial, plexi glass, 3 days PR, gold hands time only.

My wrist couldnt pull that size off and went for a 44mm base (time only). Luminor model as I love the distinctive crown guard. I went for a 560 - one of the last sandwich dial models with 8days PR manual wind (a joy every Sunday). Had loads of straps, which gets addictive.

Sold only as I realised i couldnt pull the 44mm off anymore, and the BB58 made me see the error of my ways ha.

They do produce a 40mm version which is nice and I do like (piurest dont).

Brand seems to have gone down QC wise, increase in prices and horror stories on servicing & dodgy dealings of their CEO - see Perezscope website.

Distinctive, dont see many in the wild, nothing else like them, and nothing will scratch the itch.

Crazy lume which even beats my old Seiko Monster.

My old one

I do miss having a Pam now and again, always look good on other people, my other half loved it, my dad loves then brand. Who knows maybe one day.
