Much prefer the black and gold one, has a certain 70/early 80s cool to it.

I do think Brew watches are interesting. I am not a fan of the mecha-quartz movement, though (had a couple of microbrand watches and it wasn't very reliable or nice to use). Prefer the original steel and multi-colour dial to the gold as well.
I like the original too, but missed the boat there. Never used a Meca Quartz so got no idea how they feel. Not good if unreliable though.

There’s something about a gold watch that I like. Not actual gold, just the look of it that I like.

I am drawn to exactly that. I also like other 70’s tribute watches on the low price end, such as Tissot PRX for example. A bit of fun for not much.

Talking about £500 all in. Anything similar/better out there for that within the UK?

How about this Farer for £535 (also quartz)? Also suggest checking out Timefactors in this price range.

That’s an interesting option. Completely unlike the Brew, but I do like that blue with that nice strap. Will have to investigate further.

I wasn’t planning to actually buy anything for a while, but these emails sneak up on you…

Lol. Actually it’s a self imposed justification as trying not to be so impulsive this year. Only lasted 24 days before temptation. 😀

Wife didn’t bat an eyelid when I showed her earlier, which doesn’t help in a perverse manner.

Well she's just asking for it then.... 😜

Just realised that’s a new release @Mspeedster. Nicely spotted. £7.3k is a wedge though.
Yes, just announced and limited to 747 pieces. At $9400 USD (on strap), it's expensive for sure but not out of line with current Navitimer pricing.

It will be interesting to see how fast these sell out compared to the 60th Anniversary Carrera. Currently available on the Breitling US website.

I just clocked the 747 on the Cashback, as looked to see if they had used the logo on the sapphire back, like the Swissair version. I think they’ve done this one better, plus they have used the better looking logo once more. Very cool that.

The 60th Anniversary Carrera isn’t sold out btw. WoS site shows they have stock in at least 3 stores, for example.

The question is, which one is the nicer watch!?!

I suppose it depends upon whether one is more of a Navitimer fan or Carrera fan. I like both, but the Carrera fits better in my collection. Already have two other Navitimers and don't need a third.

Regarding being sold out, I'm just going by the websites. No doubt there are some left in Boutiques here & there, and some that get returned so the watch becomes available again. In the US, it has long been sold out on the website and Boutiques, pretty much within 24 hours. @Speedy Collector (who's in the US) was looking hard for one, but none available. Then one of the Boutiques got one returned, so he was able to get one.

Same situation probably will happen with the 747 Navitimer, just curious to see how long before it's sold out on Breitling's website as a general gauge.

Sold out on website is a fair like for like comparison, I agree with you.

I have neither Carrera nor Navitimer, but both are very appealing to me. I am leaning towards the Navitimer though, as I have one TAG Heuer but no Breitling yet. 😀

They are rather large watches though, the Navitimer. Which ones do you have and what size are they vs your wrist size? How do they wear in reality?

Yup, they are big. But if you're fine with the 43mm Aquaracer, the Navi would probably be ok for you.

I have slim wrists, about 6.7" or just under 17cm. So 43mm is about my limit. My first Navitimer was ref. A23322, which has long been out of production. I love the color and also because it's smaller at 41.5mm (although most sites say 42mm.)

A few years ago I added the Navitimer ref. 806 1959 re-edition. It's even smaller at 40.9mm. Also fairly thin due to its manual wind movement, at 12.9mm thickness which includes a very high domed plexi crystal.

Wow. Both epic!

I have never seen the first one. That colour is amazing, fair play.

I definitely need to get saving. Think the Brew has to be left alone if I am ever to put enough aside for a Navitimer. 😀

That dark green Seamaster is so sexy. Probably hard to get as C24 prices are higher than retail 🙄
