I'll be interested to know your impressions once you have both in your hands. In this side by side pic, the red one looks lovely, but more like jewelry. Especially as worn by the former Miss Universe. The style of the '90s, as worn by Dempsey, fits my personal style more.

路True, but I have a feeling it would go and being leather would give with time. I couldn't think of any other OEM straps that wre black with a red stitch with the correct lug size. There would be aftermarket options though, including custom.
There's the Monaco Porsche Club of America 55 LE. That strap would go nicely with the Red Monaco 50, but the PCA 55 is even harder to get as it's limited to 55 pieces.
There was also a black and red strap included in the Monaco's 40th Anniversary strap set.

Awesome! Let us know how you go! You won鈥檛 be disappointed. Also I can tell you from experience that the graining on the dial looks significantly better out in sunlight than it does in the store. I hope it doesn鈥檛 take too long.

My '90s Monaco 50 has arrived safe and sound! I was so giddy with anticipation that I could hardly sleep last night. At work, I kept checking the Fed EX status over and over, asking my wife to make sure she was home to collect this invaluable delivery. My fears of something going wrong were for naught, my new prized possession was waiting for me when I got home.
I'm happy to say I've officially joined the Monaco 50 club! Without further ado, here's a few quick pics!

This is the most money I've ever spent on a watch. Unlike some other serious collectors, I can only afford a new watch every couple of years, at best. I'd been saving in anticipation of the Monaco 50 for a few years now. I was really disappointed when the leaked images came out, but what a difference to when each was actually revealed. This one's a keeper, but it's nice to see its already appreciating in value.

WOW!! Those photos are great, better than most of the professional ones I've seen! Congratulations on the purchase, glad it all worked out for you.
This one is definately my favourite so far. I'm yet to buy my first Monaco as I was always a Carrera fan but this has definitely swayed me. Let the savings begin!
