Yeah, I got the email, not the watch. I wish! ::facepalm2::
The red dial is stunning, but it's the most conventional dial treatment of the 3, that's why I wasn't surprised. The dial finish of the 3rd one is growing on me. In this IG post, it appears to have a little sparkle to it.

I think all sites show sold out online as you have to order via the boutiques or ADs.

    I am 3, 2, 1.

^Me too, kind of. For me it's 3, 2, 1 in terms of the overall look and color preference for my tastes. But in some ways, I still think 1 is the most unique and retro looking of the batch so far.

I see what you mean. It's not that I don't like #1, I just prefer #2 and #3 so if I had one chunk of AUD8,600 lying around to spend on a Monaco, it wouldn't be on #1.

I have an allocation for #3 if someone in AUS wants to swap for the 70’s version? :p I like all 3 with this one growing on me the more I see it. I think red is my overall favourite though so far but it’s so close.

Also received here... but not enough budget to push the “Buy it now” button! :D

So this launch was eventually related to the Formula E event in NY... although its dial finish may look like a “silver stone”, so it could be related to the F1 British GP, also this weekend ;)

Anyway, this is not my favourite Monaco 50 of the three released editions. Up to now, for me it’s 2, 1, 3

So for the 50th anniversary range of the Monaco, the first waterproof square watch, the first automatic chronograph, made famous by Steve Mcqueen in Le Mans, full on cult watch, Tag Heuer give us 5 stock watches with a variation in dial texture, colour and some new straps. Rejoice!

OK, so now I think I really got one!!!!

I was staring at pictures of the watch and the lust factor started to grow and grow. I went back to my exclusive offer email and clicked the link. To my disbelief, "out of stock" had changed to "add to cart". So I did and pulled the trigger. I hope it wasn't just a web glitch, but I got a confirmation email from TAG Heuer, fingers crossed!!!

I think it has the most racing inspired look of all the 5. I have very fond memories of the '90s, thus this is the Monaco 50 for me. :D

This picture is the one that really made me fall hard for version 3.

What else could they really be expected to do. A custom case and movement configuration would be uneconomical with such limited production. Round pushers alone would require a low number of one off cases and one off pushers to be manufactured. I'm amazed the profits even cover the marketing costs!

Frankly, any one of the three would suit me - if I could find some spare cash - every time I compare them side by side my preference changes, best to wait until the final reveal methinks. Congrats to anybody that snared one.

It's not a question of economics as there won't be any profits. The development and marketing costs of this range will far outweigh the returns. Only 169 pieces and a lot of them VIP gifts. Chad McQueen and Mcdreamy's show fee, flights and hotel bills alone will require a dozen sold watches. It's a huge marketing expense to support the Monaco image and sell the stock watches.
I don't dislike most of the anniversary pieces but these could be launched in any given year, not the 50th anniversary. Besides the Monaco there is nothing interesting going on to celebrate the Chronomatic anyway. Although these watches laid the foundation of Heuer's success and fame in the 70s.

Still available on the UK site at this moment. Just put it into my bag, but decided it's just not as good as the CAW211P.

Good job! that picture really does sell it. The silvery textured effect dial looks great. I think the 90's edition has the most complete look so far. The strap and dial go perfectly together. The 80's black strap was a little lazy, as everything goes with black. The 70's strap looks good on its own, but doesn't match the dial at all IMO. I think the 90's edition will easily appeal to wide range of buyers.

The dial reminds me of wet concrete.
