·Back in 2018 (5 years ago) on the 55th Anniversary of the TAG Heuer Carrera book “Ahead of its Time”, the TAG Heuer Carrera Connected took the spotlight 👍
I’m not sure, but I think the decision now is to remove the name Carrera in the TAG Heuer Connected timepieces since it doesn’t mention Carrera anymore in the TAG Heuer website 😉
Yes, E1 and E2 Modular, first and second generations of the TAG Heuer Connected (launched during JC Biver management) were considered part of the Carrera family, with case, lugs, buckle, and strap design directly taken from the new 2015 Carrera 45mm shape (Heuer 01, and later Heuer 02, and H02 Tourbillon)… is maybe because E3 and E4 are made in China -and not Swiss Made anymore like E2 Modular- that E3 and E4 lost the Carrera “status”?
At least E1 and E2 Modular (with its Carrera mechanical modules Calibre 5, Calibre 16, and Calibre Heuer 02 T) deserve to be in this book as they were in the official 2018 TAG Heuer Carrera book “Ahead of its Time”. This is from the Jean-Claude Biver interview in that 2018 book:
