Now we can see some official specs too then, quite a fat bad boy this one, clocking in at almost 16 mm. I wonder why they have stopped making their PVD watches in Titanium, the steel cases will damage the coating easier.

I mean I have to wonder how much of the crystal dome is taken into account with that thickness. But even so I still don't like it.

The black one is available for purchase on the Swedish site now too but not the silver. Price is 77 000 SEK, so approx. 8500 USD.

Edit: never mind, as with all limited releases it shows on the website with a price but when entering it is out of stock so zero pieces allocated to Sweden. So unbelievably strange since it is not a numbered limited edition, why not let them blonde meat ball loving Swedes buy one....

As with all of these, when they appear on the website before they have any available TAG goes with the misleading "Out of stock" instead of the usual "Coming soon, contact us"

Yeah but in other markets you can put this model in the shopping cart and pay. But here the limited models seem to enter with out of stock and forever remain this way. Sometimes, as with the Ice King, ad's get a bunch of them if they have been difficult to sell in important markets. So in Stockholm a handful got available in shopping windows during fall, even though I was told in 2020 that zero were available for a sucker Swedish customer like me.

Ah interesting. Wonder if there's some strategy behind it or just carelessness.

Still, Swedes should consider themselves lucky not to have their country soiled by the presence of this garbage 😜

Whoaaa 16mm thick 😲

Thicker than my g-shock ? 😁
Ouch! That's thicker than the Heritage Autavia H02. I love the Heritage Autavia, but just couldn't get past its thickness whenever I tried one on. So it's hard pass on these new Flybacks I'm afraid.

These will fly back to Switzerland 😒

Or Rob might get one half price at Bichester sooner than anticipated.

Actually both of them do... seems a bit odd for a watch at this price point
Odd isn’t the adjective that first came to my mind… Rather „radin“ or „avare“…

Happy New Year to everyone around here!! I haven’t been online “heavily” for 2 weeks or so - hence apologies if I’m riding a dead horse…

Now that the Panda Autavia Flyback has been uploaded online (seemingly) globally and TH have embarrassed themselves by indicating that it is a quartz chrono (and mixing up its “elevator pitch text” with that of the black DLC version; https://www.tagheuer.com/us/en/time...ibre-heuer02-cosc-flyback/CBE511B.FC8279.html), I have started a “subtle” social experiment:

I have just sent an email to La-Chaux-de-Fonds (Front Desk wouldn’t put me through to online marketing on the phone) to make them aware of that snafu. Let’s see what happens; and when… 😗

(Screenshot for the Panda from the German TH website - but (as far as I could see) it’s the same error in German, French, Spanish, Italian and English (across multiple markets, where applicable)

Can someone explain to me how the base metal affects the coating? Is it just that it doesn't adhere as well?
