This is a tough crowd. I would think with a discount you should be in Black Bay Chrono area but you get a flyback chrono with a ceramic beeeezel. I think they are pretty nice and a way to differntiate the Autavia line as a pilots watch. I look forward to seeing where they go with the design in the future. If my memory is correct some other colors were also shown a couple years ago and on bracelets too. I will wait to pass judgement when I get to see one in real life.

What I like about the brand is that there are reasonable prices on vintage watches still, they make/made modern reissues and take chances on new designs. All their watches are not going to appeal to all of us but I do feel there is something for everyone in this brand. Just look at the variety of watches posted in the "whats on your wrist". I like their current direction and look forward to some watches I won't understand but also one that I will be very happy adding to my collection.

So - which one of the two is this new release in your book? I feel like this isn’t entirely clear yet… (?)

Yes, of course. Sorry - I probably wasn’t clear…

What I meant is: If you hear „(TAG) Heuer“, „Flyback“, „Autavia“, „60 years“, „chrono“ - would the look of these new models be what comes to your mind first? 👎

When I hear Tag Heuer I am thinking they will be taking a spin on a older design. When its a Heuer Heritage piece I am thinking we will be getting a modern interpretation of a vintage watch ie 160th Carreras, Heuer Autavia's from 2017, Monaco Calibre 11

We’re probably aligned - except that so far using the „Carrera“ moniker for both heritage and modern pieces was the big exception, i.e. the only time they „went both ways“ with an established chrono family name…

Trying to do the same with the „Autavia“ moniker might seem risky since it carries so much historical weight, no?

What about the Monaco?

I think it could be confusing if they don't define what part of the lineup its coming from. They need to keep the branding and advertising showing the Tag labled pieces as modern and Heuer as heritage. So far I think they have done a pretty good job on that. A good example would be the modern Dato 160th Carreras labled as Tag Heuer and Hodinkee Dato carrying the Heuer branding. As long as they keep this branding firm they open themselves up to poviding modern watches for the masses and limited run heritage pieces for us crazy watch enthusiasts.

I agree with you on this sir @thingziliketoo 👍 Since it is “TAG Heuer” and not “Heuer” Re edition, TAG Heuer has more freedome to be more creative and more bold 😉

I like these, but if they had done a Heuer branded "bund", I would've liked it even more.

The Heritage H02 Autavia case and bezel are well suited to create such an homage watch.

I agree!! This would be a great reissue and the new watches open the door to doing it...or what if they added a GMT to it and made a homage of

That would be one of the LEs that would completely sell in minutes.

I’d buy 3 myself.

Would be insanely good! They are probably saving that beauty for the 175:th or 200:th anniversary though.

You guys are dreaming. A bund hommage? You’re looking at it. TAG Heuer ain’t Sinn.
If we ever get a hommage looking like the pepsi gmt it will have the new Autavia fat case with weird bezel, mushroom Daytona pushers and oreo crown. Pass

I was kind of anticipating that reply and had wondered whether I should tackle it proactively… 😉

I’d say that the “non-classical” Monacos are so unique-looking (namely with other case shapes and calibers) that they can easily be distinguished from the classical ones.

However, re. the classical, straight square-shaped, 39mm Monacos I think the branding is currently perceived to be way more messy than we might think here. I have, for example, read time and time again in other forums that people “would like this or that Monaco better, if it had a Heuer logo only”.

Heck - if I’m being totally honest (and maybe it’s the half bottle of white wine yesterday…), even with a gun to my head I’d be hard pressed to tell you right now whether the current Green, “Arab”, of MV Titanium Panda Monacos use a TAG Heuer or Heuer logo 👎

Out of all the points that Yago mentions, I personally feel that the insistence on the Oreo crown for everything that carries the “modern Autavia” name is the most puzzling…

Green is TAG, Titanium is Heuer.... I know not of an 'Arab' Monaco.
