Naomi's sponsors have no choice.
Speak against someone who even remotely mentions that they are dealing with Mental Health issues and you are doomed to the most severe public scrutiny and vilification on Social Media and in the press until you are left scrapping any remaining public trust and credibility off the footpath.

Yup, that's how it is....

Kimi's interview style starts to make sense now doesn't it?

You can see that Kimi just wants “to get this over and done with” 🙄

It’s okay to speak out what your hearts say 😉

I think she made the right choice. Character is what defines you. Not your money, your status nor your fame. Steph Curry & Serena Williams have even thrown their support for her. She’ll be back 👍

This is a great time to review and analyze what the role of the press and media during this tournaments. It clearly has gotten to her mentally that’s why her refusal. Boundaries and regulations should be in place to protect both parties.
Prize money and funding for hosting sporting contests comes from sponsorship and broadcasting rights. Press interviews are not optional. If you want the money, then you have to do them. Whether that's "right" or not is irrelevant, that just how it is - it's business. Sponsors don't pay for their ambassadors NOT to be seen and heard.

What IS needed is "interviewers" that don't ask such 'king dumb questions. Like, "You didn't do very well today, did you...?". Even in F1 the official post-race questions are absolute garbage. I can see why people wouldn't want to face them. I really don't have much respect for journos.

Well this is a disappointment. Hopefully there's something good that comes out of this for her

A stunning upset loss. No medal for Naomi. I suspect her time off from the court left her rusty. 🙁

I was looking if she was wearing a watch or not 😉
No watch at the torch ceremony, but she's been wearing this one. I can't tell what kind of watch it is. If it's not a TAG Heuer, perhaps that's what jinxed her.

International sports VS big tournaments/leagues etc are at times truly different, may it be individual or team sports. It’s probably also the added pressure of a whole nation you carry on your shoulder.

For example, Messi, who is probably the GOAT of Football just clinced an International Trophy despite achieving and breaking individual records while playing for Barcelona.

I think it’s an Aquaracer ladies 👍
I thought it might be an Aquaracer, but I can't find a ladies Aquaracer on the TAG Heuer website that looks like that.

The closest match is this 36mm version, however I've not seen the white strap option she's wearing. Perhaps it's a custom or special strap for her.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it even has her name in it 😉 If I’m an ambassador of TAG Heuer, I’ll want something personalized 👍

There are supposed to be rubber straps coming for all the Aquaracers, I'm pretty sure David mentioned it in his article.

From Hodinkee "Naomi Osaka's TAG Heuer Aquaracer on a white strap is just another element of her incredibly put-together Olympic uniform - white racket, white watch, red uniform, red braids. Though the TAG Ambassador is officially out of the games now, her serve and style were a welcome moment at the games."
incredibly put-together. Sure, whatever that means...

That AR would look great with a red bezel
Or with a red dial!

Just in case anyone still gives a hoot about her. She's a blm supporter, and I am out. Sponsors always have something to risk when they offer their support$.
India based website offered this piece recently.

Please do not scroll down to this egregious error when they cover the Heuer Monaco.
"Known as the ‘King of Cool’, McQueen was quite a petrolhead and an adrenaline junkie, off-screen as well, and sported a TAG Heuer Monaco in the 1971 classic, Le Mans, which took the racing world by storm."

BLM? Black Lives Matter? She has been very vocal on strong views such as racism and mental health. Even before TAG Heuer & LVMH signed her up. I believe TH has already considered this and taken it into account before making her an ambassador.

One of the kids showed up respectfully dressed for the Met Gala 2021 event. Very classy look with the best watch of the night.👍
