Cool, was your mom really into Bond too?
That's the part of Doug's story that connected with me. My dad had read all the books and was a big Bond fan before I ever was. It's his fault I got hooked! 🤣
Although the last movie we saw together was Roger Moore's last one, A View to a Kill, because I moved to a different state shortly after.

It just amazes me how so many of those props were left to rot somewhere. The Breitling Top Time (Geiger counter gadget watch) from Thunderball was bought at a garage sale for 25gbp. It auctioned for 100,000gpb in 2013. Just imagine if the original James Bond Rolex Submariner, from the first 4 films, is ever found. It would surely be worth millions!
She was a casual fan; I suppose must people who grew-up watching Connery, learned to love the series.

These guys carry props and other memorabilia.

Am I the only one thinking that the actual watch shown in the movie is with countdown bezel?
Seems quite possible. The bezel on Bond's watch does look a bit busy, so it might be the countdown bezel. But if it is that version, it should have white hash markers going all the way around the inner edge of the bezel, which I can't really see in these two pics. So, it's hard to say with certainty one way or the other.

However, the Night Diver being worn by Felix Leiter in the movie appears to be more like the standard bezel to me.

Either way, you've got it covered! The 980.031.60 (countdown bezel version) is quite rare, very cool that you've got one! 😎
