Thing is I'd be quite surprised if yours was fake, and I'm sure they did make a two tone. But it would have a different part number so that's not a good start...

It has me so confused. I’m a pawnbroker an seen 20 fake tags atleast. It’s just doesn’t make sense as to why they would put this detail into a fake Tag . The weight is right the movement looks right. But model is wrong. What if someone replaced the back plate because they can get jacked up if you don’t know what your doing.

Entirely plausible

Here are some better pictures
The watch looks like it's missing one of the mounting clips & screws (upper left corner of pic). It's definitely been opened before.
Maybe this is a frankenwatch?

How would you go about selling a way like this an what would even be fair?

It looks like @Derek Good 's watch should be a CAF2120 for the gold and steel AR chronograph. According to the model code, this watch should be 41mm (excluding the crown and chronograph pushers).

The CAF2010 is larger at 43mm. I’m curious how the back plate for a CAF2010 would fit in the case of a CAF2120?

I’m not able to locate a 43mm version of the CAF in gold/steel. I could be mistaken?

@Derek Good can you measure the case diameter and confirm the size of the case? That may be a clue as to whether this watch is real.

I can't find any record of a 41mm day/date in two tone honestly. Combined with this one having the wrong part number on the backplate, well.. it's not looking good is it?

Hi. I am considering purchasing a secondhand Aquaracer. The owner claims it is 4 years old. The serial number appears to be EEB0067 but when I check the serial checker, it says not found. Does this look like a fake? Or am I reading it wrong?

They live a province away so I only have these pictures.

I could be doing it all wrong. An I’m confused because the caf2120 only has date not day .

Good call! Sorry, I didn't notice that. Well, I'm having problems with finding a gold/steel aquaracer (CAF series) chronograph in 43 mm. Not sure why???

I use the model code as a clue:

C = chronograph
AF = aquaracer series
2 = automatic
1 = size (standard man, 0 = large man)
2 = gold and steel (1 = steel)
0 = dial colour

A gold and steel aquaracer chronograph automatic at 43mm (large man size) from that vintage should be CAF202X. But I can only find the reference CAF2120 for a gold/silver aquaracer chronograph automatic, but as you said, it's not a day/date. Being 41mm, having a date only makes sense.

Note, according to your caseback, a CAF2010 should be an automatic chronograph, large man (43mm) size, all steel, with black dial.

Something is amiss?

The warranty checker is only to tell you if your watch is under warranty or not, if it isn't there it doesn't necessarily mean it's fake (especially if it's more than 10 years old), but similarly the number showing up doesn't mean it's genuine either cos we know fakes have genuine serial numbers these days (just used over and over again). Nothing looks wrong with that watch to me, but then again we seem to have a two tone CAF that looks genuine but is probably fake so at this point I'm reluctant to say 100%

Did you buy this "brand new" on ebay from someone who just happens to sell hundreds of "brand new" TAG Heuer watches at a good price?
