I'm sorry you bought a fake TAG. Another problem with taking these watches to watchmakers, and even some ADs, is that many fail to recognize them as fake. Pretty scary. I think you have enough evidence and comments from knowledgeable members (@Jim Dollares, @Aquagraph) that you should seek to return the watch.
All the best and thanks for replying back to the group.
And that dial colour is wrong wrong wrong.
This is the color of it, almost. It’s so hard to capture with my phone but I’ve never seen another one in person so I really can’t tell if it’s that bad or not
Which of these two is the real TAG?
I’m taking it to another watchmaker next week to open it up and see what’s inside, so I can have more leverage
Black watch movement holder - looks suspicious. As well as the JAPAN battery, the watch on the right is also doubtful (if it was made by the manufacturer and not replaced)
Can they really be that good? I mean, I wrote the Warranty Card number on the Tag Heuer website and got back a description of the watch, including a serial number. So I took my watch and checked the serial number on the back of it, and it matched the one I saw on the website. Isn’t that weird though? Or am I just stupid now?
Do you remember the story where there was an Aquaracer that had been bought and sold between a handful of Klocksnack members during a couple of years? One of them even had like Sweden's biggest auction house "authenticate" it and write a piece of paper saying it is real. Turned out to be a fake watch. There is no doubt your watch is fake though, I hope you get your money back.
lol sorry, that watch IS the real one. I don't know if the renata battery was put in after the fact. I only use reneta batteries for any replacements. I don't normally do tag heuer battery replacements, nor do I generally handle brand new tag heuers. I deal with older ones 98% of the time. I'll have to look into it. The black movement holder has screws. The white one is just lose. I have real ones with the white holder too. I honestly don't even know anymore lol. But yes, the one on the right is authentic and has a warranty with tag. I bought it thinking it was fake, and had some issues come up and then wasn't able to return it. Gotta sell that damn thing already.
Yeah, I feel very suspicious about this piece. I mean, I wouldn’t write anything here if I thought it was genuine so I guess I know but I don’t want to believe it you know. I’m going to my local watchmaker today to get a professional opinion on it. I don’t have an AD where I am right now, but I hope I can get answers upon opening the watch and check inside.
thanks for answering me.
Don't forget, ebay's authentication service. The people they send it to, know nothing about these ultra fakes. And they keep letting them go. Anyone on this thread, knows more than they do. and an auction house wouldn't know shit either. Unless they see a bezel lume like the one that was just posted.
This is the inside of my caz1018. Sorry about the angle, I just took this photo a while back when changing the battery. I will take better photos next time.
Is the holder screwed down?
I wish I could remember. For you James, I will take some easter time to open it up again. Let me come back in the weekend
Thank you 😀. I can almost see a screw, but I'm not 100% sure. I just moved a few months ago, and all my things are all over the place. I can't even remember if I have any other OEM watches lol. How sad is that. I need to sell all this crap already. Rent went up $1300 a month....
Living the good life James. Money is useless when we die, spend it when you can and enjoy this wonderful journey called life. Selling some shit is always good though 👍
Це внутрішня частина мого caz1018. Вибачте за ракурс, я щойно зробив це фото під час заміни батареї. Наступного разу зроблю кращі фото.
