He is right, only AD sales are registered. Serial number registration is for warranty purposes. Grey market can't have that. Can you send me a link to the seller? I can't seem to find him.

Everything about the watch looks genuine apart from the lume and the lume dot, any chance it could be real or am I just clinging onto false hope?!

Anyone got a way208c.fc6383 for sale??!!

Now that I looked at his listing, with better pics, I can also tell you that the box itself is fake.

For future reference, if you look inside the box, there is this black border between the outer box and the surface the watch sits in. The real ones have a nice wide, smooth, flat border made of hard material. The fake ones have this cheap thin soft material.

All his brand new Tags are fake. He has only one real one, and it's the used one.

I have a WAY20C but it's not for sale. This one looks off to me though I couldn't specifically tell you why.

Took me a long time to find this one too, was super lucky to find it at a TAG Heuer outlet store with a 30% discount. Looks like James is right about the lume pip (as usual)

The lume is rubbish even on a real one though.... so that's not a good indicator.

Appreciate all your responses. Is my best action talking directly to the seller and asking for a refund or just creating a case with eBay?

It's not about whether it's rubbish or not. The fake and the real ones have completely different manufacturing methods. Real is an actual insert, while fake is always molded into the bezel. Or poured in. Or whatever it is they do. But real ALWAYS is an insert.

This person knows what he is doing. I'd open a return directly, claiming not authentic. He has no choice but to accept the return. By the by, not once have I returned a fake sellers watch back to him 😀.

You are misunderstanding what a grey dealer is. They aren't owners. They don't buy from the AD typically. SOMETIMES the AD will off load inventory. But there will NEVER be a tag heuer warranty with grey market. Only an original owner selling their used watch, would have a warranty. No warranty activation is not a red flag for fakes. It's just a watch not bought from a dealer. That's it.
I've bought a couple of "new" watches from grey market dealers before that have come with a valid, stamped warranty card from the AD that they got it from. Other times the warranty card may be blank. It all depends on how/where they sourced the watch and whether the providing AD wanted to stamp the card.

EDIT: This wasn't TAG though. Maybe the way they do it these days has changed.

I apologize. It was not intended to hurt.
Hope you get a good TH in the near future.
Sorry if you got offended, was not my intent.

What i meant was that Jamesbiz's watch looked like a replica also.

Someone should have also told you to never ever buy Aquaracer used or via questionable sources like Ebay or Amazon. The market is flooded with "good" fakes and Im sure there are thousands of owners out there wearing what they think is a genuine luxury piece. Aquaracer can only be bought from AD, TAG boutiques or used from a seller you know and trust who can prove original purchase from AD or boutique.

Grainy photos. I don't like the look of it one bit, and would certainly stay clear unless someone like @jamesbizs gives it the all clear.

If it came with a warranty and was a new watchb, it's not a grey market watch tho.
