The high replacement cost is certainly something to take into consideration when buying such a watch but with the high sales numbers of ceramic watches I'm doubting if this occurs a lot. People who got away without a scratch after a bump/drop don't tend to report it.
True true, Im sure you're right. But the stainless steel Spitfire is a safe bet for me after seeing this.

Very true - unhappy people are always more vocal.

Ceramics are fine for non-structural elements, but I wouldn't want a case or bracelet made out of it. Push it against a sofa wrong and the lateral force could shatter a lug or link.

Wow 🤔 From a short fall while he was on his knees, doesn't sound great. I do think that it was an element of luck though, it probably hit it in just the right (wrong) spot for it to shatter. I imagine that it is not 'that' brittle that a normal bump would shatter it or there would be tons of examples of this. I will just use extra care with mine after reading this 👍

At least you could always touch it up with a crayon if it got damaged.

And the inscription on the case back?

Inscription is correct for a 1133 but finish seems lacking across the entire case (maybe it's just the pictures, or perhaps it was refinished). The pictures aren't great, and it looks like the dial has been damaged. I've not seen blue subdials on a 1133, but perhaps it's a replacement dial or the photo makes the black subdials look blue.

It does look blue to me, but the pictures are pretty bad. I would ask the seller for some better pictures, but based on the colour, finish and what appears to be damaged dial/lumes I'm expecting it to be fake. The only reason I could see for the low price would be a replacement dial (now damaged) and a refinished case, with a potentially damaged movement.

Just confirmed by seller : blue. Asked for better pictures but with 620 can't go wrong if it's not a fake or would you say otherwise?

Ask for better pictures, ask about what appears to be damage to the dial/lume pips, and the blue subdials. I'm not an expert, and don't have a lot of experience with the Monaco. I can't say for sure it's real without having my hands on it.

Any opinions on this one:
620? That's a steal, I don't care about the flaws. The case, crown and pushers are worth more than that. If the crown is signed and the case is Heuer that is.
Best check the markings between the lugs. The Monaco cases were used for private label watches and only Heuer Monaco watches will have the correct reference numbers engraved between the lugs. Hopefully it will say 1133.
The back looks good. Correct engraving. Some brushing still visible. Overall the case doesn't look overly polished, decent.
It seems to be a mash-up but that's not always bad. Looks like a G to me, it also has the white subdial hands of the G. But if the seller says it's blue I'd love to see pictures in better light. I'd be surprised though.
Dial looks original, all the fonts seem correct, no issues there. The 10 in the right subdial has been badly refurbished. Some loss of lume.
The hands aren't orginal to this watch. No biggy if you're not paying top dollar.
The strap belongs to the first TAG Heuer re-editions of the Heuer Monaco from the '90s.

I take that back. I've been looking at other examples and they all have oversized 0s. My 73633 also.

Oh dear god, my eyes. That is horrible.

Just what is that sub-dial (if that's what it can be called) at 3 o'clock supposed to be showing?
