Don't know if I should post this here at Vintage or New. Looking to buy this TAG for 110$. Only have that picture. Justin from Tag1000Diver says it's real, but I'm still skeptical.
This looks OK but well-used. Maybe why it looks a bit odd!

Exact same laser engraved serial number on the back as the one I purchased as opposed to engraved, 'Swiss Watch' as opposed to 'Swiss Made' (not on it's own a determining factor), the same printed dial with flat lume, perfect condition for a 30 year old watch and I feel the plastic ring (not sure the technical term) above the dial isn't very Tag like. This to me looks like a genuine seller unwittingly selling on a fake (possibly).
Agree with all this. 馃憤 The 'bezel insert' is incorrect, which is what I think you are saying. We have see these laser-etched casebacks and agree they aren't right!

The problem is, all the fakes out there seem to have one thing in common. The tags have all their stickers on them. SO the question is, where did this guy buy a brand new watch with all tags intact. Show us the box.

Also, got a link to the seller? The best way to tell if a watch is fake, is to see if he's selling other watches that are fake, as some are VERY easy to spot. I don't deal that much with formula 1's, so I have a harder time spotting the fakes.
Hi here are few pics of the papers and box it came along with. I managed to book an appointment with watch maker tmw to check its authenticity and if not I'll return it

Its not hard to spot the differences.
1:Extra lines at both ends of the 1/100 scale
2 :Hands are different on the ends
3 :The 12. 9. 3 numbers are all thicker fonts
4 :Numbers on the bezel are thinner and incorrect fonts
5: The positioning on both 1/10, 1/100 dials are in wrong place.

I'm beginning to think this is a 'Franken-watch'. My main concern is around the black date and the incorrect bezel.
I've spend some time looking through the catalogues and the only models with a black date are the Black PVD full-lume models, which are all quartz.
Would Heuer (or anyone else) put a black-backed/white text date dial onto an auto movement 'by mistake'??
I've also just realised that the crown is wrong (it protrudes too much and the diameter seems a little small - maybe it's a 1500 crown?)

I'm also pretty sure that with those hands (not the cathedral hands) the dial ought to have 'automatic' printed on it.
I think I'm going to pass on this one.

You made some great points Rockburner. This watch is undoubtedly franken. Besides the wrong crown, bezel insert and calendar disk, dial size is critically wrong(smaller). Also, hands do not seem to be authentic,

It would be more helpful to know whether it has the correct backcase and the Heuer stamping on the circuit/coil cover.
