Hi, I would welcome any input or comment on this watch which I am considering

Tag Heuer Carrera Fangio CV2014-3 Automatic Calibre 16 w/ box & papers (from a well known local AD)
I have come across this watch for sale locally (Perth Aust) for A$1600 or approx US$1100 or EU980
I have the opportunity to meet with the seller to view the watch tomorrow.
I'm aware the hour markers also appear as "shadows", I presume due to the poor pics.
Does anyone have any concerns with the authenticity of this watch or the price being asked?
thank you in advance

I think probably genuine, although the condition would put me off.

Yes, it looks as though it has had a hard life.

Thanks for the response
I understand the bracelet shows wear and possibly the bezel edge, is there anything else I have missed? I will get a chance to inspect it tomorrow.
Thanks chris

It looks authentic to me 👍, and I think the price is reasonable, because it cost more than three times this price when new
Maybe the pictures are showing more scratches than on the metal... and maybe you can ask at your AD the price to polish it/order a new bracelet

I'm not overly familar with this particular model but I'm not seeing any obvious red flags. Perhaps you can take some more photographs when you inspect it.

So I contacted a seller called C.WSoles about their red 1000 Series (of which they have two) - they bought one from Ancient Balance (tradenvint) and one from Catawiki. He claims one has been back to TAG and wasn't rejected as fake... albeit it wasn't sent back for that purpose. I have a bad feeling about this. What if TAG authenticate these watches? That will make a complete mockery of what is clearly large scale fraud!

I've told the seller twice that he's selling a fake.

My friend. Theses watches have not been taken down I have just looked. There is actually another one identical been put up. Both watches I have are identical in colour and both have been to tag and I have had nice conversations with the people at tag about the watches. They are not fake watches. I appreciate you belive your self to be helping but i do not need your help with respect. C.W

I haven't put much effort into those older fakes anymore. I'm mainly concentrating on the 60 SIXTY!!! accounts selling brand new tags. This is insane.

By the way, my contact at TAG was aware of this thread.

part of me is afraid it's going to destroy MY business on ebay as well, if tag heuer decides one day to say " yep, no more tag heuers on ebay".

Yeah it's a shame for genuine sellers and private sellers who maybe want to sell their tag watch to buy a new one.

I'm the buyer looking for a genuine 2nd had tag heuer watch to add to my early tag aquaracer.

But after buying a fake off EBay, I'm wary to buy.

Would TAG even be able to do that? I can't see eBay being particularly compliant.

oh yeah, they can get super strict. Rolex has a team of lawyers that scours the site. Hell, Seiko, doesn't allow any seller to ship to Europe. If you list international shipping, your listing will be removed after a quick report from Seiko.
I just got off the phone, with the guy in charge of dealing with fakes on ebay. Finally, after weeks of communication with other people, they finally got sick of me, and connected me directly to the person in charge. So we are going to work hand in hand to take care of this . So, I'll be looking at this thread, to send information his way. And, he did mention Tag heuer dealing direct with ebay, if Tag so decides to do so. They might not do a sweeping no Tags on ebay, but tag would be able to say " this listing is fake, remove it". Tho I doubt they will bother. Why would they lol when they have free volunteers on forums?

You sure about that? I've bought Seiko from international sellers before. Oh, and am currently auctioning one myself with an international postage option. It's not been pulled yet!

Yet, they haven't pulled them yet. I've had them pulled, weeks after they were shipped.... Remember, it's all about man power and how long it takes their team to find something.

"After reviewing your eBay account, we've taken the following action:
- Violating listings have been removed. A list of items that were removed can be viewed at the bottom of this message.
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).

Importing certain products from other countries without the rights owner's permission may violate their intellectual property rights. Your listing was reviewed after the rights owner notified us that your item violated their rights."

I have plenty of seikos selling online, but I am never risking shipping to anywhere near Europe. Micheal Kors also does this.

The rights owner or an agent authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner, Seiko Kabushiki Kaisha (t/a Seiko Corporation), notified eBay that this listing violates intellectual property rights. When eBay receives a report of this type of violation, we remove the listing to comply with the law.

Dear Sirs, SEIKO filed a notice of claimed infringement in respect of your eBay listing because you were offering a SEIKO/PULSAR-branded watch for sale to consumers in the European Economic Area, which had not first been put on the market in the EEA with SEIKO's consent. This is an infringement of SEIKO's registered trade mark rights under article 9 of the Community Trade Mark Regulation 40/94 and section 10 of the UK Trade Marks Act 1994. In accordance with these rights, SEIKO only authorizes selected distributors to put products bearing the SEIKO/PULSAR trade marks on the market in the EEA. You are not authorised to do so. Please therefore make it clear to all your potential customers that you will not ship any SEIKO/PULSAR branded watch to them if they are located in the EEA. To do this, you must state that you do not ship to the EEA in the 'ships to' section of your site where it says 'worldwide', and in the shipping instructions. Thank you, Netmonitor
