I presume what they are actually doing is charging a premium (20% it seems which is quite a lot) to 'insure the transaction - seeing as they aren't going to inspect every watch sold. So I imagine they are only going to offer this for 'Premium' sellers which means they're basically going to cream 20% of the sales with sellers who probably don't sell fakes anyway. This won't help someone who buys a garbage watch from 'Kev2468' in the slightest.[/QUOTE

I rarely buy anything from eBay .. not into second hand items .. I saw the article and thought I post it on here .. 馃榾 馃榾馃榾

Greetings everyone. I was recently given a Tag Heuer 2000 series watch by a close family member and i wanted to check its authenticity. The series number is 964.013-2 and my questions are :1)is it authentic 2) what does each number represent and 3) why doesn t it have two codes like other Tag Heuer Watches(i.e.CAR2080.FC6286)? I found the same exact model in the 1991 catalogue (page 30) but i wanted to ask anyway. Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to answer my questions.

Only a photo can give a better idea of authenticity, however the fact it鈥檚 got a proper model number and you鈥檝e found the same one in a catalogue is a good indicator.

Numbers don鈥檛 represent anything particularly, unlike the later model references you have seen. The two sets of digits was introduced in around 79/80 with the 1000 series and then in the early 80鈥檚 the 2000 series (along with other x thousand series models) came about and the same model number arrangement was used.
The -2 I am not sure on but would suggest it鈥檚 he second iteration of the model. Other models use letters to denote these changes.

A quartz Calibre 12??? If the price is too good to be true, then so is the watch.

Are you saying its fake ?

It is definitely fake, but not bad really and upfront about being quartz!

One should always be skeptical, when things are too good to be true.

Hi @Hubert

I like the watch ( please click the link ) , I just wonder if the price they are asking for it are worth it ?

As @Aquagraph said the Monaco is a fake. There are several clues, but being "quartz" is the ultimate

The SpaceX is also fake.

I am not an expert on the 3rd one. The images are too blurry and given the other two fakes, I wouldn't have much confidence in buying it.
