No it's real. There's no good fakes of watches from that era.
Ah man thank you so much! Would be a good watch to add into my collection. Thanks again!

No problem.
Hey do you think it would be just fine if I take it for a swim or dive? Or should I keep it away from water? I mean its a diver but then again its a vintage.. What do you think?

Unless you want to spend the money to get it pressure tested I would keep it well away from any water! A watch of that age could have perished seals or no seals at all..

From my experience with the WAZ1010 is this one doesn’t look good.
The date wheel doesn’t line up and is off to one side. I can see this from each frontal photo.
Also the fact that the movement isn’t screwed to the holder is a big indication that it’s fake.
Could have been swapped and they lost the screws and tie downs… I’d bet on fake.
The movement was screwed down, but the movement holder wasn't particularly good quality.

I turned this WAZ1010 down (explained my observations to the owner, that while I couldn't say it was fake for sure I certainly wasn't happy buying it).

I had a genuine WAZ1010 come in today, so was able to verify all of my observations were correct.

Oh I see them now! Yeah those don’t even look like they’re even touching the holder. I’m glad you were able to cross reference with a genuine one! That was a pretty good fake

Im curious about how much do you guys think this is worth? Im actually quite new to this tag heuer collection so I don’t really have a clear idea of what is the ‘jackpot’ for tag heuer

Best value Neo-vintage “luxury” watches imo.
You can get a really well made TAG Heuer for a few hundred bucks. Super easy to work on, too. I love these old 2000 series watches. Bracelets are a bit jangly, but they are super comfortable!

I don't think it's fake. I used to have this watch on a leather strap - 36mm, too small for me. Nice though. It is quite scratched up but Kiriums often are... all those polished surfaces. Really depends on the movement, it's getting old... so if you know someone who can fit a new movement cheaply then worth a punt. If not it will probably cost the same to fix which makes it expensive.

Thank you to all who added to the info and opinions about the Kirium.
Especially Aquagraph because you posted a photo of the inside of yours a few years ago which was very helpful when we got the opportunity to check the movement.

We bought it. 😁 (for £225, which seems a good price to me, with a brand new renata and seal fitted too)

I managed to polish the one I bought up pretty well. When it arrived from eBay it was very scratched but because it's all polished it's pretty easy. Looks okay in this photo though...

Good morning everyone.
I recently bought an Aquaracer WAY111A in Japan. Purchase through Ebay, seller with lots of positive comments and sells only watches.
Complete, box, warranty, corresponding booklet.
Pins and barrel original (double and non-sytmetric).
Originally sold in 2017 by a large watch and jewelry store in Japan.
Serial number on the warranty card and receipt from the original store.
It does not find it in the TH database, so I wrote an email to them and received the following reply:
"Dear Sir,
This serial number belongs to WAY211A.FT6151"
I wrote to the seller from Ebay I the original seller and am waiting for a response.
What do you guys think from the pictures ?
Because realistically the watch looks very good, and I've seen some fakes and in person and here on the forum.
Thank you
Peter

Cape Cod is a great finishing polish and fantastic for general upkeep of any watches and jewellery.

It looks fine, honestly.

Not sure if to post here or the "is my Tag authentic" thread but looking into getting the s/el senna and have heard to many eBay horror stories and not knowledgeable enough to discern if fake or not

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1566109812...9JSwx1DX+OieSg+P0dmya0/m7Y|tkp:Bk9SR9C-pu6GZQ

Does this appear legit or any recommendations where to source one( in the Bahamas so preferably somewhere in US for shipping purposes)

You'll probably get more eyes on it if you post in the "is my TH authentic?" thread. I don't own that model, so I can't be certain on all the details. Based on what I know about SELs in general, most of it looks correct. However, I noticed it doesn't seem to have a serial number, which is a concern. I'd ask the seller if it has one, because sometimes people edit the photos to hide the serial number.

The question of a serial number, which was raised by @TH.Senna and others (in different threads) recently, has made me wonder if perhaps some very very early SELs didn't have them. The Heuer developed 1000 series, 2000 series and TH Formula 1 didn't have serial numbers. As the SEL was the first TAG model fully developed under the new TAG management, it might've been possible that the first run of SELs didn't have them. But soon after, TAG decided to add the serial number to the SEL line, which was meant to be their flagship model at the time. Just a theory. I'd still be wary of buying one that doesn't have a serial number.

One other important thing to note is the S35.406C (CG1121) was not a model worn by Ayrton Senna. Senna's father Milton did wear one though.

My ‘Milton’ S/el didn’t have a serial number. Lovely watch though.
