I don't think there's a lot you can do except calmly confirm to eBay that you received a non-original watch and returned the watch that was sent to you in the same condition you received it. Hopefully your messages to the seller also back this up and they will make a sensible decision, but you are somewhat at their mercy it seems. Wondering why this didn't go through the eBay authentication programme?
Price under the threshold I imagine

So eBay’s “we will contact you” means that I will have the chance to defend myself again?

Thank you. On the other hand - hoping that I’ll get my money back… what do you think of the watch below? I already checked the stamp on the card, the address and the company is real. Apologies for the quality, they are screenshots from chrono.

Probably OK. But be aware that these Aquaracers are a minefield these days with convincing looking fakes. And you may also experience problems with buyers trusting you if you ever want to sell it. The safest way is obviously to buy new from an AD and keep for ever 😀

Looks fine for a WAY201A - bezel markings, lume pip, and indices are correct.

Is my TAG Heuer Aquaracer WAF1111 authentic

Dear All,
I hope you're all fine.
I bought a pre-owned Aquaracer but I'm not sure if it is authentic or not. Doesn't come with warranty or any other details. It came with the original bracelet and a generic leather one. Can someone assist me with the serial number and say if it is authentic or fake?
Thank you so much and Merry Christmas

Looks fine
Hello, thank you for your quick response. Did you check the serial number? Because when I checked it said "not found"...

No, just looked at the watch. Fakes of this era generally looked very fake. The TH serial number checker is notoriously useless and hasn’t got a ton of genuine watches (including my waf1110).

I am also trying to figure out some info for my CN1111 “TX4039”

Been in folks closest for years, changed battery, cleaned it up and feels/looks great

Oh these clowns also have brand new Grand Carreras. And isn't it funny how these 'authentic' websites always have this one

This 2016 novelty is like a beacon for fake sellers

Hard to say from that picture but I've never seen a good fake of the 2000 Exclusive. My guess is it's real. If you can post better pics I might be able to be more sure.

Hello community. I have been lurking for a while and this group of people is a gold mine of knowledge! I currently own 2 Aquaracers and -(have) own(ed) a dozen more TAG’s. I almost bought a WAY2015 which I instantly fell in love with. It was listed on Catawiki and a Dutch local site here in NL (seller speaks Dutch but was temporarily located in Italy). I negotiated the price down to €1250,- I was ready to pull the trigger until I entered the serial number into google and found that the same unused watch was offered in Romania. Confronted seller and he did’t respond until 1.5 weeks later. He said that he was ‘surpised’ and ‘shocked’ that there was another exact same TAG offered in Romania. I then found a third WAY2015 on Ebay with the exact same serial number. Almost couldn’t believe that fakes could be this well made. Started googling WAY2015 counterfeit and ended up here 😀
It seems that half of the watches on Ebay of this exact modelnumber are ultra fakes. The dial has a different kind of green and the back seems slightly off. The date and magnifier seem off as well.
This is the one I almost bought (for €1250).
Very much looking forward to your opinion.

This is one of the most faked watches. When it came out it was hard to get, the boutique in London got just 2. I wanted one but couldn't get one. Now they are freely available everywhere. Such a shame as now I can't even buy one used with confidence.

My partner spotted this in an antiques shop, and we're considering it, but would like to know if there's anything obviously wrong with it.

This photos are mine, she had some better ones which I'll post up as soon as i can.

One issue is that the watch is not running, despite allegedly having a new battery only about 5 months ago.

Looks a bit too polished but real, I would personally walk away.

Too much? Or do you foresee it being a non-runner even with a new battery?
