Is my TAG Heuer Authentic? All questions here please

Yeah I’m gutted. I bought it through Vinted and got it at a good price, two things I’ll be very wary of in the future. Don’t know what to do with the watch now, don’t want it if it isn’t authentic.
Aquaracers and Formula 1 (WAY and CAZ especially) are the most common fakes that are hard to spot, and should probably be avoided unless you know what to look for.

I picked up my Jack Heuer Autavia (CBE2111) on Vinted for a little over £3k and despite some issues with TAG's servicing department, it went smoothly.

I submitted the WAY201A here yesterday. The seller luckily accepted the return, but wrote this. I shouldn’t get in the dispute, right? Any ideas how to overcome this?

Hello everyone. I have I believe exhausted all possible sources in my quest to find out if the Tag Heuer watch I recently purchased is real or not. So I would like to kindly ask experts on this forum to help put it to rest...
As you can see the watch in question is Link Stainless steel and 18K gold WT 1150.
I have included pictures what I would believe could determine if it is real or fake.
As far as functions...it has a screw down crown and rachetting ring. The quick adjustment of date works only in correct position of hands. The watch weights 170 gr or so. In case the pictures are not clear there is number 955.112 inside, a logo with "eta" inside, SWISS V8 and also seven 7 seven jewels written on the movement. Back cover and band has numbers and letters of style and serial number of the watch. It had Renata Swiss battery (dead) before I changed it. I know it doesn't mean a thing, as you can buy them online for few bucks....
Thank you all for your inputs. I couldn't find the date this watch was introduced...
For those who would like to know...I paid $200 (auction). I figured it was worth the risk... round box and papers ( no warranty card) were included. Radek
Did you get an answer on this as I have the same thing with a watch with no Tag stamp on the movement

I don't have a specific watch to ask about, but certain eBay sellers in general. There seems to be a large number of 980.020s for sale, mostly from Japan. I don't think there are any fake 1000s out there. From Internet searches at least, I can't find them.
So, what dangers should I be looking for?

A few years ago there was a surge in 1000s being advertised on eBay. A real noticeable surge. In red, blue and two tone. Oddly someone came here with one and it had this odd, matt red/orange dial. Now that dial should be a beautiful kind of sunburst red. He was convinced it was fake and he sent it to TH. They said it was real. We were shocked. He was shocked. But we must remember that LVMH didn't even buy TH until 1999, the record keeping before that was sketchy at best and so I am not really sure whether they can really authenticate these models or not. But it's very odd that a few years ago it was suddenly easy to pick up whatever 1000 you wanted, eBay sellers literally had every variation like it was Joma Shop or something. So I'm afraid I would seriously question the idea that there are no fake 1000s

Before anyone points out the Monaco 24 Gulf on sale on eBay for £2,650 - yes it's a fake.

It'll go through authenticity guarantee and (likely) fail, costing eBay more money.

Imagine if those c*nts actually listened to all of us that were reporting fakes?

[Edit - it's been relisted under the auth guarantee cutoff. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/316065672877]

Isn't it funny how these green dial Aquaracers just keep on turning up, it's almost like there's a factory somewhere (in China) churning them out....

Had someone bring one of those in a couple of weeks ago to try their luck - difficult not to laugh tbh.

That matt red/orange dial might have been a hybrid of a real watch with a fake dial.

There are aftermarket parts for the 1000: bezel inserts, dials, crowns, and crystals etc. Many vintage 1000s have aftermarket replacement parts installed. Not what I'd call 100% authentic originals, but not really an outright fake either. TAG1000Diver (Justin) actually sells a number of these aftermarket parts. He also sells recoated black ceramic bracelets and entire watches that have been recoated in black ceramic to make them look new again.

Also, what I often see are Frankenstein 1000 watches, where people have taken parts off of one 1000 model and mixed it with another. Very common for those trying to emulate the ref 980.031 James Bond Night Diver watch. They'll take a full lume dial from another 1000 and insert it into a black pvd case model such as the 980.026. It's not a real 980.031, but it's not quite a fake Heuer/TAG Heuer either.

As far as a replica 1000 that's entirely fake, that I'm not so sure about. But I wouldn't be surprised if they exist.

Hello guys! I would not like to steer far away from the cause of this forum, but I am in desperate need of help, and I hope that I can count on your expertise. I returned the watch. Earlier I posted a screenshot here where the seller threatened me not to send “other watch”. Now, he started a case on eBay - attached. What are my odds? What can I do with this? eBay will contact me in 48 hours if I am not mistaken.

P.s. I made a video with the watch ticking in perfect condition before putting it in the box.

I don't think there's a lot you can do except calmly confirm to eBay that you received a non-original watch and returned the watch that was sent to you in the same condition you received it. Hopefully your messages to the seller also back this up and they will make a sensible decision, but you are somewhat at their mercy it seems. Wondering why this didn't go through the eBay authentication programme?

That will help if you can send that to eBay
