Not really. It's a combination of experience and following this thread for years, which I guess you could also call experience...
Thank you again.

Good evening everyone! I have been offered a Tag as a trade and while I have always wanted one, I am not familiar with the realm of quality timepieces. The seller/offerer has been very respectful and answered my questions, but I am hoping that you all can give me info on this watch.

The most important thing being legitimacy, of course. Followed by some information on the model? Best I’ve found is that it’s an Aquaracer professional 300 43? Does that sound right? Lastly, if it is appropriate to ask here, what a value would be. It has no box, nor papers. Thank you kindly for any and all information.
JAH JAH
I think that date glass look off. To my knowledge the crystal should be all smooth with the cyclops UNDER the crystal. Not like here it looks like a hole with glued in cyclops.
Is it flush or can you feel a dip ?
This is a very interesting and scary one. I have now been staring at and going through my own WBP201C, using a loupe, comparing details between mine and the one shown in the photos. I believe what we see here is a counterfit watch and evidence that there are now crazy good Chinese versions of the Aquaracer 300. There are a few concerns which to me demonstrate that it aint a genuine TAG Heuer watch:

- The quality of the engravings on the caseback is worse and more rough than the genuine one. This includes the reference number and serial number engravings which look nothing like mine in terms of placement and quality. Same can be said about the 3304 engraving on the bracelet end link.

- The clasp is probably the biggest tell. It looks way too brushed in the photo and the finishing on the TAG Heuer shield does not match mine. The inner part of the shield is supposed to be more matt grey kind of, with a greater difference between the shield and the rest of the clasp. Perhaps current owner took it upon himself to ruin it with a home brushing?

- The gap between bezel and bezel insert looks too big in the photos. Mine has smaller tolerances and there is not such an obvious gap between the two.

- In the photo, the six o clock marker looks damaged. Plus it is not aligned, the placement is slightly angled.

- The dial printing of the TAG Heuer logo in the photos looks off. It looks too thick, height wise, as if too much paint was used, if that makes sense.

Conclusion: Never purchase a TAG Heuer Aquaracer from anywhere but an authorised TAG Heuer dealer. If it was just one thing or two, then maybe I would think that this particular example just happened to slip through TAG Heuer quality control late on a Friday afternoon but with this many concerns, I would be very surprised if this is an authentic watch. This is then the first really "good" Chinese version I have seen of the WBP Aquaracers.

It's possible they were relumed I guess. But it can be normal for the lume colour of the hands not to match the dial. The actual metalwork of the hands looks genuinely aged, however. And doubling down on the dial - those tritium lume plots are definitely the real deal. Perfectly normal for a 1980s watch to not get them bang in the middle either.
Thank you for the response guys, really appreciate it.

SHOCKER! Ebay looked into this piece of crap and found that it didn't violate their policies.
How bad does a watch have to be before they can actually recognize a fake?

I tried one more time and success! I told them to look at the bezel printing.

Maybe getting more than one report from different people swung it.

Might depend on the customer service rep who reviews it. I presume you were correctly selecting the replica/counterfeit category.

An absolute Frankenstein Monaco on your trusted eBay. Named CS2110, subdials and back for CW2113, trying to copy the CAW2111
