HELP PLEASE!
Hey all. I made my first “big” purchase with a Tag Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 7 GMT WAZ211A BA0875. I was banking on the eBay verification option to check authentication, but I fell just below the $1000 price threshold. The serial number checks and everything looks good except for the tag logo on the higher side of the dial. Looks at bit funky to me. I will attach pictures. Thank you and any help is most appreciated!

Wondering if anyone can provide more information on this watch that was given to me. I was told it’s a diving watch and they bought it in the early 90’s. Just wondering if it’s real/ fake and any more info on it. Does an early 90’s watch classify as vingtage? lol

Hi Jackson, and welcome to the forum!

I moved your post to this non-vintage thread about authenticity. We keep the vintage thread for Heuer watches and this one for TAG Heuer watches.

I think your watch is real. Fakes from these models are really bad and blatant, and your watch looks fine 👍. It is a TAG Heuer 6000 WH1112.BA0675, full size (Man), grey dial.

The 6000 series was the top of the TAG Heuer range 30 years ago, and it was popular because the 6000 and the S/el were the two TAG Heuer watches that Ayrton Senna most often wore.

Hello all, need a little help if I may. I picked up a a ladies formula one on eBay as a refurb project for the wife as she had one like it when we started dating in college. Looking at the one I received it looks unreal fake to me. States Thailand Movt on the face and the band is absolutely garbage with the Heuer on the clasp looking way off. Hopefully you guys can confirm my suspicions. Thanks and appreciated.

Thx for the reply, how to I diffrentiate between authentics and non-authentics?
Experience with genuine watches. On older fakes like this it's easy. Yours in no way matches up to swiss quality and that movement is junk. So many other things just look wrong about it too. On the modern super-replicas, it's much much harder to spot a fake, however.

I purchased this watch off a reliable eBay seller for a good price. I looked through all the catalogs from 1999-2004 and could not find the serial number even remotely close to the one on the back of the watch case which reads (PH6079). I then searched up the serial number on the bracelet (which I was told was original) and it came out to be a 2001 Blue dial Tag Heuer 2000. So the reference number is from a 2001 Tag Heuer black dial seen here and the bracelet is from the same year but a blue dialed watch. What confuses me if the serial number on the watch casing. Google isnt telling me anything can someone help me out? What is PH6079? No watch exists with that number. I was told it was a unique serial number but now Im being told there are no unique serial numbers that Tag makes with PH in the beginning

The bracelet number is not exclusive to each model, all dial colours share the same bracelet.

Your watch appears in the 2001 catalogue on page 88. The bracelet number is different because TH updated the bracelet with a new unique bracelet for the 'Exclusive' model rather than using the older 2000 bracelet.

I wouldn't worry about your watch being authentic, fakes from 20 years ago were pretty bad.

Thank you! But is it normal to have a unique serial number starting with PH? Im new to the watch world just making sure Im not getting finessed. Reddit was giving me mixed results so I just want to make sure
