Tag heuer does clear tape. Blue tape. And sometimes clear with small sections of blue. The main give away with the fakes, is that it's a one piece wrap. Tag heuer uses STRIPS of tape. Top and bottom, with the sides exposed, or sometimes the tape overlapping each other. And sometimes the small piece on the end links. This obviously requires more work, which is what fakers don't want to do. And honestly, who looks or cares about tape, except people like us lol.

Can confirm taking the tape off was a pain in the rear lol.

Hello guys, I have the option to buy this green aquaracer - The thing putting me off is the warranty card has no writing in the bottom box, which it usually does.

He doesn't have the original receipts.

BUT the long serial number and short number RDA5791 check out properly on the tag heuer website.

What do you guys think?

Much much appreciated. You're all very knowledgeable here.

Cheers.

I'm not sure. I am suspicious of the lume pip but it could be the photos. But what I can tell you is that the brand new Carrera I just purchased off the TAG Heuer website had no writing in the box on the card either.

Cheers for the replies everybody.

I see what you mean about the green but I don't think he's took the photos with the flash on which may give a difference hue.

I'm still majorly on the fence about this, can a fake tag here have a valid warranty ? As I say the model number and serial number all match up on the official tag website. I'm stumped

100% sure it is fake, has the wrong hang tag (the sticker labels)
Printed wrong like all the fakes.

Filfthy criminals who produce these counterfit watches often use the serial number from a genuine watch, this is an easy way to trick buyers and give them false comfort it is a genuine product.

Ah thanks guys.

I'm not clued up on watches at all, otherwise I'm really good at spotting anything untoward with most things. That's why I appreciate all your help here.

@JAH - What's different about it so I can look out for it in the future?

Thank you

The differences between the good fakes and the genuine article these days is so minimal that you often need to see them side by side to tell the difference. Little things like the font being slightly off on the packaging, lume pip not being right, colour shade differences, wonky labels, boxes that don't look as good quality as they should, etc. all add up. Plus having a vague knowledge about which models are frequently faked well (Aquaracers being a classic example).

Am I correct that this is a fake? The watch It is supposed to be a 1500 professional. 625.213G-2.

The hole in the dial under the bezel at 12 seems to be a giveaway but also the white date background. Haven't seen that on any 1500. The hands also seem incongruous with the rest of the dial. Case back seems correct - it is more frequently used on the 929 from my research where the last t in waterresistant is above the last s in swiss. But I found one 925 that had the back case that way. On the others the 200m is above swiss. Finally, in some I've seen what I presume to be a movement number perpendicular and to the right of the Tag emblem.

Thanks for any help!

Sorry to be a pain guys, what about this one? Close up images and a youtube video about this watch for sale - Though he doesn't have any original receipts, says he's a watch broker.

The video:

This is the exact watch for sale. He tests the sapphire glass, the lume and checks the movement type etc.

I'm really after one of these green aquaracers but there's so many duds!

Thank you all once again,
Edited:
