Also this "rare" Monaco.🤦 If it just wasn't for that detached 24 hour hand 😲
I’m amazed that for fakes like that they go to great length to even brand the rotor and clasp 😁

What’s that yellow hand at 1h, btw? 👎

That’s a cool strap, actually 👍

It is, the real one is on the WAZ1014 Senna F1 and also the original Manchester United F1

I may or may not have bought a few fakes since starting to purchase potential tag heuers a few months ago and i am aware of this, mostly being with no paperwork.
One thing that i am wondering about is a ( possible) series 1000 I bought. I do really like it but it hasn't got a lume dot ( or hole where there used to be one ) on the bezel at the 12 position - see pic.
Every pic I've seen of series 1000 since have the lume dot. So, was this ever a thing ? Is there a possibility the bezel's been swapped out or just (obvs) fakery ?
Cheers,
Dave.
I suspect yours is fine but can we see the caseback please? The 980.033 'economy' model doesn't have a lume dot....
Best, Steve

Hi Group, what are your thoughts on this Heuer Silverstone 510.403? If you are commenting, you probably know this watch was offered without the Silverstone script. This one does not have the "510.403" stamped on the case back. Is the movement correct? Overall, looks better than some of the fakes I have seen.

I'm thinking that if you're considering a Silverstone it should state so on the dial. Same problem I'm having with my Pasadena search.
I can't attest to the movement authenticity. I'll leave that to the experts here.

Sure, that would be nice, but there is a legitimate version with out the Silverstone script- it's actually the one in the Heuer catalog...

I'm not a Silverstone expert but based on the unsigned rotor/orange subdial hand, I would guess it's had a donor movement/hands with an original case/dial. That would also explain an unmarked caseback. I think the orange subdial hand was actually used on the later "named" models where the dial was printed with SILVERSTONE. Could just be a dial swap with the earlier dial.

Take a quick look at this one listed at Barnebys: https://www.barnebys.co.uk/redirect/158600588

Saw this on eBay - hard to tell if it was fake, since it's been utterly destroyed by some ham-fisted imbecile with a polishing wheel.

Honestly thought it was a 4000 series from the thumbnail picture on eBay.

They have polished out all the scratches, and half the bracelet and bezel with it.

However, a fake would likely have very thin electroplating I'm guessing, and not be able to withstand such a vigorous scrubbing.

But other than that no clue!

Mostly a joke about how much it had been butchered - what's left of the watch is genuine (except the bracelet, which the seller admits is a replacement).

That's tragic. The lugs are so thin, they look like they could snap.

Why. Why would they even do that. I really don't understand it. It's not even a fake. It's like putting a Mercedes logo on a Yugo

Without the TH on it I might have a punt if it was cheap, something different.

£10-20 cheap.

😁 😁 😁
Also hilarious is the name of this “model”, and the description 'about brand authenticity' 🤦 😁
