I know I shouldn't... but when I find videos on YouTube of fake TAGs being touted by 'LuxuryIndia' or somesuch I usually have to leave a comment saying something like

Hahaha, this watch does not exist, total fake crap

Or something to that effect..

And for some reason they feel compelled to answer me, and it usually goes like this

"Dude, this is not fake, this is 7x A+ quality"

or my personal favourite

"This is not fake it is 'first copy'

First of all, the quality of the watch is irrelevant. If I could paint a better copy of the Mona Lisa than LDV it would still be fake.

And second of all, what the hell does first copy even mean? Especially when it relates to some POS Carrera with an Eiffel Tower on the dial.

Hi All,

Sorry for the repost, as you probably seen it from WUS. Thought this post will be more relevant in this forum.
All,

My younger brother recently received this TAG F1 (CAZ1010.BA0842) as a gift for college graduation. I am no TAG expert, I can't vet it authenticity personally. It looks to me a grey market from the warranty card, comes with 2 swing tags (1 with price and model and serial number 3 letters and 4 numbers, the other swing tag consists of various smaller stickers with QR codes and model and serial numbers) and the double boxes. Appreciated if anyone can confirm it authenticity? Tried to look up the serial via TAG serial check website, but nothing came up as I believed it was not activated due to the grey market source? Note the serial number has been truncated from the warranty card and I did a quick diligence with the serial number and seems it is not the fake that are widely circulated but one may not know.

Strange. The only authorized TAG dealer in Canterbury is Goldsmiths. Canterbury Store Ltd seems to be elusive (can't find a phone number or listing on Google), yet I have seen watches emanating from this area in Canterbury before. Pretty sure that warranty isn't valid. Indeed I recall trying to find their "store" on Google maps once before.

I am not passing any judgement on the watch, I presume it's OK until shown otherwise.
