Thank Tom, it's silver actually

I think your watch is genuine. As far as I know there aren't any 'good' 6000 fakes. You have to remember the 6000 was made in the 90s, when fakes were generally very poor. Of course it would be possible to make a great 6000 fake now, but why would anyone bother? The 6000 isn't at the top of most people's wants list, which is why the Aquaracer is faked so much, because it's saleable.
This bracelet must be impossible, or economically unviable to reproduce at least.
And what a lovely bracelet!

It is cool, but it's also quite delicate and can be damaged relatively easily. When I bought this silver 6000 it came on a bracelet that was damaged and I sent it back to have some of the links replaced. The links are not 'solid' like a Kirium, but the bracelet shouldn't collapse either, the links are designed to articulate to a point, the problem is if they get damaged then they stick out. Granted when you put it on and wear it they will probably move to the right place, but it looks a mess when you take it off. A new bracelet is somewhere in the region of 拢350 IIRC.

Hi,
Recently bought this from a guy I thought was genuine but now have my doubts. To be honest this is a much cheaper watch than I normally buy and did not spend the time on checking it like I do a Rolex. However now having my doubts especially after taking the back off. Can anyone confirm?
Also serial number check on tag warranty page comes up unknown which I guess is confirmation?

Well it's got the genuine plastic movement holder, so that's something....

I think this one is real. Looks like the 5040d movement made in Switzerland. Also case looks good to me. Do the hands have a ridge along the centerline ?

The warranty check not giving a result means nothing. It often doesn't find a watch. Same thing happened when I checked my Carrera, but an email to TAG customer service validated the serial number and warranty validity.

There are two 5040d movements Tag use, goldplated and silver. Gold is swiss made, and silver is swiss parts put together in Asia.
Gold also have more jewels.
5040D is a serviceable movement, so it can be repaired not replaced also...
Looks like a good watch.

A friend of mine has a similar piece, I don't think he'd let me take the back off though unfortunately... maybe when he needs a battery.
