Better than Watchfinder though.
been wondering about that Watchfinder company. Prices for used watches are often same level as brand new. A brand new Monaco on grey market is cheaper than a 5 year old used one sold by Watchfinder. Who in their right mind buys used watches from Watchfinder?

Watchfinder used to be good. Richemont bought them and then their prices went into the stratosphere.

Someone must be buying them, though. People who want convenience, don't go on watch forums, and/or don't care about the money I guess.

Looks real to me. Why do you doubt it?

Because just two months ago I bought for 2500€ a Monaco caliber 12 blue dial like this and it was an amazing replica that they sell for 150€. It was made so good even the papers and the box that it was impossible to know, until I opened the back case...

The serial number REG1333 doesn’t make you feel suspicious? Is it a legit serial number for tag heuer?

I don't think it's suspicious - seems like the right format to me. 3 letters, 4 numbers.

I'm surprised a super fake would only cost 150 euros. The really good ones tend to be more like 400-500. Even then, there are tells, especially with fake chronographs.

Not all Watchfinder prices are high, their Kiriums are probably 30-40% higher than eBay but you get a year warranty, and a guarantee against it being fake. The more desirable watches are dear, some hilariously so. But the thing with Watchfinder is, I reckon a lot of their business is trade-ins, so the price isn't so important. In my experience their trade in prices are better than anyone else that I tried, but then the list is higher. They were better in the past, I got my 2000 Exclusive chrono from them for £650!

I asked Watchfinder to quote for taking a blue Tudor Submariner off my hands a year or two ago. I wasn't that serious about using them, more interested. I expected them to be low but not as low as they were. They offered me £2500 for a watch they would have put straight onto their website for £6500! :whipped:

Did you try elsewhere? When I traded in my CAU2112, Watchfinder were 30% higher than the other places I tried... buying outright was about the same everywhere though and very low!

No, I sold it privately. I don't doubt that other places will also lowball. They have overheads to cover after all. But this example seemed extreme!

I wonder how many watches Watchfinder sell for their asking price.

When I bought from them, pre-Richemont, they were keen to negotiate and their asking prices were much more reasonable back then. Perhaps, there are larger 'discounts' to be had thus pleasing the customer because the asking price is higher. The net result to Watchfinder is the same though.

I've bought two watches from Watchfinder. Got a discount on both. Not tried recently, though.

My wife's Omega Constellation was £1850 on the site and I bought for £1600 IIRC. Damn good price at that.

Hi all,

New to the forum, but I've been collecting watches for about 10 years. I purchased a Tag Monaco out of the UK about 9 years ago. I'm trying to sell it now, but I've had a couple of questions on its authenticity. I'm hoping everyone here can give me their opinion.

Strange one. It's not a CW2112 which has a white/silver dial 3-register chrono. And the hands look wrong. Strap is not original TAG, and the movement logo, not sure what to make of that. Some of the case looks OK, but who knows. Either it's a frankenwatch or a fake in my opinion.
