Might not be the right thread, but christmas present is a new Carrera panamericana from an authorized jeweler. Im trying to register it on the TAG website, but when I try to add it to My watch it doesn't take it. Any ideas? I know I cant be the first to encounter this. BTW, this is my first post on this forum. Great information on here already.

Great choice and welcome! If you are trying to register on the new TAG Heuer site, many models are not in the database and will come back empty. I gave up on after trying to add some of my watches. Hopefully they will fix this in the future.

I'm wondering if anyone can shed any light here. On the face of it this shouldn't be fake, because it's on a respected second hand website, but there's no yellow stitching on the strap and there's no cotes de geneve finishing on the silver bit in the middle.

Can't see Watchfinder selling a fake! Strap may not be original. The cote de geneve finishing is there I think - it's just the photo exposure of it is whited out in the first picture.

Yes, I mean I can't see them selling a fake either, it would be death to their business. On the other hand there's another watch on there which has numerals where there should be batons, but that could just be a wrong part number - TAG aren't the easiest company to catalogue.

The yellow version is original; if I'm not mistaken it's a limited edition - can't recall the name.

It looks OK to me. I guess the black paint wore off (or some of it did and the previous owner decided it would look better if all the paint came off!)

That F1 Grande Date is the real deal, but the owner might have removed the side black lettering.

Thxs, how much would you think is a far Price to pay for the watch?

Hey folks,
First sorry if this has been asked before, but I figured this might be a good thread to get an answer. I picked up an old TAG 1500 (wd1200) and I was trying to find out when it was manufactured. I bought the watch at an AD, so I'd be very surprised if it wasn't real. Anyway, I identified the serial number and am looking for a guide to translate for it. Anybody know how to read them or where to look online?
