Some great shots from Rich Crosthwaite (@heuervintage on Instagram) of a prototype Heuer Montreal made by case manufacturer G. Ruedin S.A, a company that today is owned by Swatch Group. Heuer ended up using a different case manufacturer for the Montreal, possibly because there was unrest at Ruedin in the early 1970s that saw the company sold in 1971- the final Montreal was launched in 1972.

Fascinating that this watch surfaced after such a long time!

The original prototype is so very Seiko from that same era.
The final product is much of an improvement.

It looks like the case didn't go to waste! Here is what looks like the same case, used by Bulova, with the Calibre 12 movement inside

Got an opportunity to purchase one with the original bracelet I can see alot of stuff from this watch.

1. Has the exactly same case & pusher as Heuer Montreal Prototype
2. Same movement
3. Caseback said G|R SA (Might be G.Ruedin in short).

The bracelet looks amazing feels like an oyster bracelet
