I wonder how much compensation Rolex would pay if they lost your Daytona?

Arrived today. Stunning. Having some issues with the clasp - doesn鈥檛 seem to lock in place properly. Anyone had this? Also do you all change your own straps? I don鈥檛 have the guts.

Yes the clasp sucks, it is really bad unfortunately. I used mine in the beginning but it kept popping open on one side so now it just sits in the box. Ordered and still waiting on a Heuer branded pin buckle instead now.

What a POS. Unacceptable on a 6500 watch. Thanks - can someone give me a cliff note version of an improvement that fits the 160th?

You can upgrade the clasp to FC5049 for about 拢100. It looks the same but is designed for a 3mm thick strap as opposed to a 2mm and is much more secure. Of course you'll need a strap to go with it too.

I change all my own straps. It's not that hard. Have had a couple of minor scratches over the years but good quality and correctly fitted tools (e.g. Bergeon) and practice minimises the risk.

A brief check and they seems to be closer to 200 but I haven鈥檛 dug deeply. Do you use a spring bar tool or the tweezers?

I had a bit of an issue "only' if I did not have the adjustable end completely locked flat in position. To do so I opened and closed the adjustable end on the strap to flatten out the strap a bit where I needed it adjusted to. After that no issues. I have done this little break in with several new straps purchased for watch/clasp and had no issues after.

As mentioned above, if you don't have a Bergeon tool, I would get one. This watch has so many personalities based upon the strap its on. A true strap monster 馃榾

Congratulations and Welcome to the Church @clerkpalmer

Noob question - what鈥檚 lug width ?
19 mm

Also, double check to make sure you've removed all the protective plastic on the clasp. It can hinder operation.

I have no issues with mine. However at least one forum member has sent their watch back to TAG Heuer because of a problem with the clasp.

Don't buy online, get one from a boutique. I paid 拢110 from memory. And a strap was about 拢90. So yes, 拢200 all in, but the clasp is cheaper from the boutique than you will find online.

I use a Bergeon spring bar tool.

The lugs are the case extensions that the strap attaches to - so lug width is the width of the strap you'd need to get to fit the watch.

Heads up to anyone who wants to buy the Silver or the other two editions (Green & Montreal) including the Carrera Bahrain edition.

Passed by the OB yesterday in our local shopping mall (City Centre Bahrain) and found all the watches on display for sale.
