@Mspeedster Thats what tipped me over the edge. Was really surprised when I made the offer to the AD and after a little while they accepted it. Would never have thought it could be had at that price.

I believe that if you develop good relations with your AD / Boutique seller, they can offer the most especially to their long-time loyal customers. It pays to be nice and good 馃憤 Awesome deal! Cheers! ::rimshot::

That and the fact they probably want it to sell out before any new models get launched. 馃榾

Boutiques are very limited in the discounts they can offer.... sometimes they can send a freebie or two your way though 馃槈

Yup, especially in the US. I've never gotten a US TAG Heuer Boutique to give a discount, just freebie goodies. Much easier to get a discount from an AD. But still, @Anthony.R got an unbelievably good discount for this LE. Well done! 馃憤

Yes, TH Boutiques don't do discounts, unless you can prove to them that an Authorized Dealer is offering the same watch at a lower price (published discount).

As for ADs, the discounts on TH are getting much harder to get these days. The last time I asked for one in JAN, the best they could offer was 15% on a LE.

Hey @Mspeedster
I'm going to put you in touch with my guy in NYC. I've purchased from my Boutique in Melbourne on a few occasions but the last 3 Watches (Aqua Batman, Carrera Elegant and 160th) I couldn't get from Melbourne due to the price difference. It's never been less than 25% discount from my guy in NYC.
I don't know how he does it and neither does my Boutique Manager in Melbourne.

Thank you! Is that where you got the Silver 160 from?

Not in my experience. I have always got a minimum of 30% off at my local boutique.

May I ask if that includes Limited Edition watches? I was under the impression these are on a no discount list.

At Boutique they say no discount on LE...
But the AD I purchased from was happy to reduce it by 25%. All the Boutique was willing to give was a Watch Winder and that was at Pre Order. Not sure if still applied when buying after that. Go Figure

Normally a boutique will not discount an LE. But I did manage to get a discount on my 160th from a boutique (I won't say how much but you can probably find it in this thread somewhere if you're really interested). It was not a widely available offer and limited to two pieces they had and wanted to sell quickly in the new year I guess. I think it probably also helped that this particular boutique is operated under franchise by a large jewellery chain who happened to be advertising the same sale price for this piece.

So in summary on discounts from a boutique - hard, yes. Impossible, no.

Good point. Not LEs.

There is no one I know of who doesn't like a discount. If you really want something, regardless of discount, and the price tag offers a good value for you, then you'd let the green light a go 馃憤 If it's the discount you're after, well and good. If you're after an LE, that's a different story. I'm happy to buy my Carrera 160 Silver at the TH Boutique. Only three were available in my country. Very nice experience buying in TH Boutiques (even in covid times) --> Not all TAG Heuer Boutiques are the same around the world BTW 馃槜

I do believe TH Boutiques offer discounts. Upfront, I get a discount if I pay in cash 馃槈

Timing is everything too. You certainly won't get a discount on launch day of a new LE. A year later, at a quiet time for sales, when there are new releases imminent and you might get a different result. But you will also have risked the LE selling out.

Turns out I live a very short drive from them, too. Bad.

Picked mine up after stumbling into it at a tag boutique in Cabo, being vaguely familiar with and somewhat keeping an eye out for a vintage Heuer chrono. In isolation, this looked like an identical yet modern version to me so I grabbed it. Spent the next few days reading about it and fear that I should have spent the money on a CS3110 or vintage 7753 instead, I feel like it just looks so big on me, specifically the thickness.

What do you think? Have a dark brown rally band coming for it that maybe will sway me...
